Anyone switch to the dark side recently? I know, from reading comments here, that people either love it or hate it. Probe IMO is like Ettan-fine texture, moist, incredibly long lasting flavor, obviously from the same company. The only difference is that it has a smokey, sweeter, yummy whiskey flavor. Any of you that hated Probe love it now or try it again? I pulled a tin out last night of the log that I had sealed in the freezer (my half cost one from Buysnus). Forgot how much I like it and missed it!

Probe's alright. I loved it when I first got it, but quickly tired of the flavor. I'll use it more when the weather turns cool, but I won't be buying anymore rolls :^/ -
I'm still up in the air about Prove... I find that the less sweet a snus is, the more I like it... Probe is pretty sweet to me...Comment

I havnt tried Probe loose yet. But I have a can in the freezer to try. Altough, I have tried the portions and I like them a lot. And I hate wiskey. This is just a good snus with a flavor added that is not sweet. Which seems rare. It seems like most of the flavors added to snus are sweet and I dont like them. So if you consider probe a flavored snus then it is the least sweet flavor there is out there.
Anyway, I still dont think it even comes close to Ettan. Ettan is the snus of all snuses in my opinion, It smells just like the chocolate cookies my grandma made and it tastes like tobacco heaven. No sweetness, just salty with the perfect balance of bitterness.Comment

I hated Probe at first. After my taste buds adjusted to snus, from cigs, I find I like it more. I don't see myself buying a whole roll at a time, but a couple of cans, sure.Comment

I had a can of the portions back in the Spring, and I'm working on a can of lös right now. It's really pretty good. The whiskey flavor is really light, so if you don't like *drinking* whiskey(I don't care for it myself), it shouldn't preclude trying Probe.
It's not salty at all, which is good if you don't like salt. It's a little on the sweet side, which is good if you're into sweeter snus.Comment

Yah, I don't like the name too much. Premium Parrots is right about one thing...don't name something that is an invasive product. Why not name it something closer to the flavor that it is like ...hmmm..I don't know..Wheeska? Go figure that it would be the lamest/most disturbing name for a snus that IMO is one of the best out there. Where in the hell are the rest of you....aaaa probe lovers....that I have seen on this forum before. I think that Probe is better than Ettan for me. I like Probe (ditto on where did the name come from?). I have a can of los and will go for a can of portions next.
I notice that Probe retains its flavor very long - no bitterness.
Is there a difference in taste? Does anyone know? I think Probe is close to the Bourbon Cope that used to be around - without the heavy burn and a milder flavor. Just my 2c.Comment

@ winter wooskie: Yeah, Ettan gives me a kind of aftertaste like biting a chunk off a roll of toll house cookie dough. It is salty though! I dunno, I like it. It's probably my #2 right now, behind General.Comment
