How many other snus users do you know, personally?

I don't really know anyone outside of Norway. A couple of my friends in Canada (where I've lived half my life) use dipping tobacco. I introduced them to snus when I was there last summer, and they liked it a lot more then dipping tobacco, but of course they didn't start using it because they didn't want to order online. However here, almost all my friends snus. At my school of 1400 people, roughly 3 to 400 of them use snus. There's only one active male smoker at my school now, and maybe 10 girls. At first most girl's were kinda spectical to the snus, but since 2004 statistics show triple the amount of girls now snus. But I'm interested in how popular, or more importantly, how many of your friends have you introduced to snus which have actually started using it?

I have tried to inform about ten of my friends (smokers and dippers) to try snus. About 5 out of 10 switched to snus. I have two friends that like Knox, and one friend that likes Retro...the rest use a variety of snuses. Seems they like what I like for the most part because they got to try it first from me. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that I buy it for them because they don't have access to the internet.

Just 1, my buddy from work. We kind of introduced snus to each other in a weird circular way. He had gone on a trip to Norway, and saw a bunch of people, men and women using snus. A chick gave him a Lucky Strike, but he didn't like it much at the time. He came back and told me about it, and a couple of months later I saw an in store ad for Camel and bought a tin. I dug it, and ran with the idea. he then got interested and also started using it, though not nearly as much as me.

I don't know anyone else who snuses in my area. I've been trying to convert a few of my workmates, but no luck just yet. The way my job works is that we have two crews per submarine, and so while one crew is out at sea, the other crew stays home and spends time with family, trains, etc. There is a friend of mine on the opposite crew who is a big dipper, I'm going to try and convert him when they get back. We'll see...

Just my Dad. He used to dip Cope (since before I was born) and I told him about snus. A tobbaco shop down the street from him sells Grand Prix, so he strted buying it and thats all he uses. I sent him a variety from buy snus that he liked, but he seems to be nervous about ordering anything on line and has stuck with the god awful horrific Grand Prix :?

but every time my friends come over they use it. They arent huge fans of it, theyd rather use dip, but they always want either a pris or a pouch.

Very few, seems like most people I try to persuade to give it a shot think it's a "redneck" way to use tobacco and not much different from dip or chew. One of the members of a RYO forum I participate in gave it a shot and is now a Snus whore (B, a member here). If someone doesn't want to listen and appreciate it's effectiveness as an aid to smoking cessation, I don't continue to push it.

I've got another bud from work who I need to follow up with. He's got the balls, we'll see if he has the sense to follow through. It's a learning process. Takes time.

I've offered snus to alot of people. Some try it but have differant opinions. Not a single daily user in the bunch tho. Keep in mind that I don't know ANYONE that dips. So, no matter how much I explain to them what snus is, they all think its chew. And their reaction is usually ..........eww.
