    Skoal Snus Review. 3 FLAVORS

I have been looking forward to trying the Skoal snus from the minute I saw it advertised at Sheetz.

I went in today as I do every Sunday and low and behold, there it is on the shelf. 1 row of citrus. 1 row of cinnamon, and 2 rows of mint.

I ofcourse, bought all three because heck, why not? At $3.49, it is cheaper than Camel (meh) anyways.

Here are my first impressions in general.
They are very small portions, maybe even smaller than Camel
They seem very rough when you rub the pouch itself.
Packaging is alright, but somewhat confusing to open.

Ok, now to the actual review.

Citrus- It took about 20 minutes for the flavor to finally kick in. I would not really call it a citrus, but solely an orange flavor. After about 40 minutes it started to taste like an orange creamsicle, which I guess is not a bad thing.

Mint- Your average run of the mill mint. Took about 15 minutes for the flavor to become strong. I really did not care for this one as much as the orange surprisingly. I guess if I was to go with a mint snus, I would just buy Triumph.

Cinnamon- I was really looking forward to this one because I was sick of the crappiness of Camel Spice. I would not say it was bad, but it did taste a bit different to me. I would use it over Camel Spice in a heartbeat, plus it is a dollar cheaper than Camel.

Overall I am not too sure of the nicotine amount. I was running low on sleep so it was hard to tell if I was getting a buzz, or just overtired.

Where do you live? I've never heard of this.

I can't believe it took so long for a major smokeless tobacco brand to put out some snus. I would expect, being a skoal product, the nicotine would be very high.

    Thanks for the review bro.

It was JUST released in what must have only been the last few days, here atleast. I have not heard of a release date or anything for it yet, so I guess I got lucky.

      I live in NE Ohio.

I've heard rumors about this Skoal Snus. I'll make a run to my local El Cheapo, since they had Triumph snus for probably 6 weeks before I started seeing triumph threads on here. I'm not surprised no one noticed them, though. The sign they hung was about 12"X12", and you couldn't even see it on the shelf, it was behind so much stuff. Anyway, I'll stop in and see if they have this stuff. I'm surprised there's no "tobacco" or "natural" flavor, though.

          Good luck finding it.

They have been promoting it at sheets via the snus/dip display for a month or so, but the rows were always empty. Last week they had signs on the door, but the snus was not in yet.

When I saw the orange on the one tin I thought ahh, its probably natural, but to my surprise it was orange. I would have definitely thought they would have natural.

I probably won't try it for that reason. Then again, Skoal doesn't put out any "natural" flavored dip - but I wouldn't be surprised if Cope comes out with a natural flavor snus.

Skoal has Skoal classic. You don't often find it in stores, since it's only available in fine cut. It comes in a gray can. If you look it up online, you can find it fairly easily, but like I said, it isn't very popular, so you won't see it much.

I'm interested in trying Skoal Snus because I was disappointed with the Dry. I live in southern Ohio. Do you know of any stores that are carrying it?

Nope. I'm sure that Speedway gas stations will carry them pretty soon, since they were the first to get Triumph when it was released (compared to all the other stores in my area).

I wouldn't be surprised if most dip brands come out with a snus of their own in the next decade. Copenhagen snus would be awesome!

The only thing that worries me is how pure is this snus. I am not sure if I trust skoal or the cig. companies.

I have a similar anxiety, especially since they don't have full disclosure of the ingredients. However, I'd probably try it because it's probably better than cigarettes. Any info on when their market for it might spread?
