We will give away 2kg (4 lbs) of the last Gellivare Snus

Hi Folks,

It's a very sad story about the Gellivare Snus factory bankcruptcy. They are now gone...

The only thing we have left in the storage is one unique 2kg (4lbs) Gellivare Snus (loose Snus) package with 5 dispensers of different flavours which you can blend your own snus at home. We are thinking about giving this away to a person on Snuson.com but we don't know how we should do this? Can you guys maybe come up with an idea on Snuson.com which we can do together on Snuson.com to choose a person who will receive it?

I've PM'd you my suggestion for the forum member I think should receive some or all of it (lxskllr). He was one of the true fans of Gellivare.

Otherwise a random draw of all those interested in receiving such a gift or who wish they had ordered more Gellivare when they had the chance.

I think some sort of random drawing would be in order. Those who are interested could just register, and you could draw at the conclusion of the registration period.

I agree with fedora. Since I'm relatively new to snus (little over a month with Swedish snus) I'm still exploring all the flavors. It's kinda sad that a snus that I've heard great things about will not be there for me to experience.

Thanks for looking out for me guys :^), but everybody should have a chance at the snus. This was a one of a kind product, and it's a shame(of epic proportions) that new snusers won't have a chance to try it.

A quicky answer would be to have a random drawing. There's probably a better way though. Something that benefits The Northerner and Snuson would be nice... Something that benefits Roger and Doris would be better.

I say create an email address and post it here on snuson to which those interested would send their pertinent information. Then from those interested who have taken the initiative to email regarding the give away select at random a winner.

Provide an email address solely for this purpose and list what information is required to be included as a possible winner. Include a deadline and announce the random winner when selection is made.

I agree that some gesture should be made to the Gellivare Co. I feel terrible to see them oppressed by a technicality.

Very good suggestion BakerBarber - are you suggesting that someone here makes an email address - or that Northerner does it? I've got unlimited email addresses for a web hosting account I've got if anyone wants me to set it up (a bit more secure than just making a hotmail or gmail account - but I don't know if that's necessary)

Absolutely agree with some kind of gesture towards the people that made Gellivare work for all these years. After 2 minutes reflection - my selfish anger over not being able to get it again has been replaced by a real sadness at the loss of a business and the state they must be in at the moment. I wish they could see how far their little product reached and how strongly we feel about it, but from their website I doubt they speak much English.

I am surprised actually that this sad turn of events is what prompted an appearance by our friends at The Northerner. Hopefully The Northerner and other companies involved with snus will become involved with SnusOn in an active way. I'm sure many lurk as it is. I really like the opportunity to converse with manufactures and distributors.

Not to be inappropriate, but I've done the math.

It comes out to about 46 cans worth of snus @ the 45 gram average. Hopefully whomever receives it is able to store it correctly while consuming it. Even at three cans a week that is enough snus to last almost 4 months.
