wow.....how cool. i think they handled it perfectly, and I'm one of the ones who procrastinated posting on this thread! class act move. i will start using northerner sometimes when buying snus.

They should be ok with with money. That's why you form a corporation, to be protected if the bottom falls out. It sucks to have your baby taken, especially through dubious tax law. The little bit I read sounded like that taxes were at least open to interpretation. The way the government should have handled it, is to make them pay future taxes, but write off the "owed" amount.

I hope they get back in the business. They're snus was too good to be gone forever. Landström's Snusfabrik has a nice ring to it ;^)

Well, i didnt win the snus, which is kinda good in a way, since i cant afford the $636 tobacco import cost (then pay 10% tax on that!) and i've had some of this snus in the past. Still couldve enjoyed it, but i guess sitting round playing ps3 instead of being on here finally had a down side, missing out on "free" snus :P

Hi all snusfans of Gellivare snus.

Today I received a wonderful bouquet of flowers and me and my family was deeply moved. At first we didn't know who sent it to us but now me and my daughter,Cecilia found this forum and started to read your contribution to a discussion and we had no idea that we have so many fans from all around the world. We are as sad as you all that we had to shut down so quickly.

But who knows maybe we come to America and start a factory, I lived in Dallas,tx for a couple of years in the 80's and I loved the US. I hope you all continue buying lots of snus from the Northerner, they have been great doing business with.

I'd suggest Maine or Washington... The weather's a bit cooler, much more agreeable for my tastes :^)

Doris, don't get our hopes up! A real snus producer here stateside? Trust me, I think I speak for all of us snusaholics when I say, we will buy rolls of any snus you produce here in the states!

Wow - Doris, its great to see you here on the forum. Northerner is a great company and at least I am sure glad they sent you the flowers.

Coming here to the US is a great idea and if you were to do so and make your snus I would certainly be a customer of yours.

After seeing this article (while doing a websearch on The Northerner) I decided to order. Any company that is giving product away to loyal customers, means I should be one of their customers. It also helps that a user on here noted he got a shipment from them in Ohio (where I'm at) in like 4-5 days. I placed a order for a sampler box and some of the energy snus. I have been using Triumph here stateside and have become a real follower. Looking forward to my shipment.
