Looking for a place to talk about snus

Hi there,

I was wondering if there was anyone on this forum who wanted to talk about Swedish snus and other oral tobacco products. I really like snus and other oral tobacco products, but I'm not very interested in armchair political opinion, casual sexism and soft pornography ... does anyone know where I might be able to discuss such topics with active members?

Sardonic or not, I am right there with you. Maybe we just can't argue with demand. A lot of the snus-specific posts seem to get ignored, while the divisive off-topic stuff gets people talking: kind of like the Fox News of oral tobacco sites (except the actual updates are commonly from less-reputable sources).

Maybe a "no-bullshit" snus and snuff thread could be at least one place we could reach a critical mass of on-topic activity?

I agree with what you are suggesting. It seems to me that the most snus related discussion would be in the reviews section with so many flavors coming on line, but nobody is posting reviews much....

It would be cool to share some more reviews - not only is there a bunch of new stuff, but I am also surprised at how long it has been since some snuses have been reviewed here. Whether anyone would give enough of a shit to join a discussion is an open question, but it would contribute to the snus body of knowledge or community or whatever you would call it, regardless.

Does anyone have any requests for a review by a stranger with a whole two years of snusing under his belt? Some of the latest tins I have made my way through (and hence the freshest in my mind) are: Crafted Snus original and white, Mustang los, LD original and white, Gustavus original, Knekt los, F&L Skane Vit, F&L White, F&L Slim Berry, GR#2, Skruf organic los, Taboca white stark, Probe los, Islay, Kapten white, Lab 02 and Lab 05.

Agreed. I apparently have a way of ending a snus discussion completely. I respond to some question or thought that someone has, expecting and hoping for at least a response if not a rebuttal and then....nothing. It's happened multiple times, so I wish there were more people here to talk snus and not politics. I'm here to inform and be informed about snus or other tobacco products I have knowledge about or want more knowledge about or to hear other's opinions and it seems like most of what's on here is current events, which we can get and/or talk about elsewhere. No offense, because to each his own....but if a post is started or added to by wa3zrm, I wish for a way to filter it out. Maybe it's a way to get some traffic from google searches to snuson...

The owner of snuson started the site so people can get info on snus and for a place for the members to chat about anything and hang out. Snuson is fulfilling its purpose in both regards. There are many forums here about tobacco and only one forum for all other discussion, that being the People and the World forum. If you only want to learn about snus or read reviews etc then please don't go to the People and the World forum. If you don't want to read a particular members posts there is an ignore button that you can click so you won't see any of their posts.

Many of the established members already know all about snus so they come here to hang out with their friends. There are always a ton of people online here at snuson to learn about snus. Only a small fraction actually join snuson. They come and learn and may never post or become members. There are usually 100+ guests on the site at all times and on occasion there are over 200+ guests. Most of these people looking for info actually use the search button at the top right side of the page so they may never post. Pretty much all the questions that anyone could have are already answered at least once but most are answered many times.

The active members come here for many reasons. They come here to vent, share stories, and express their opinions on just about anything. They even let us know when they have lost a loved one or other quite serious issues. We are here for them because....well because we are snus users and we care because most of us don't conform and some of us are outright off the deep end....THATS what makes snuson.com snuson.
I, for one, certainly appreciate the current event info that is provided by the member that you specifically mentioned. Its better than watching the news .

Anyway.....I hope this explains the issue you have with the site.


btw....if you think there is too much unrelated banter on the site now...then you should have been here 3 or 4 years ago. lol

I love talking about snus, answering newbie questions......but I also like the other stuff as well. I enjoyed watching the clip a while back of SJ preform on stage, hearing about so in so and their new job......the cooking thread.....and it goes on and on......the site is yours ....post your interest
