    Northerner Energy Snus Review

Today along with my General I recieved the Northerner Energy Snus so i figured I'd type up a small review.

    Flavor

The taste is similar to the Bawls energy drink but with a splash of honey mixed into it. Its not a horrible taste, I myself to find it very mellow, but I can understand some people not liking it. when you open the package it smells like baking soda.

    Size and Effect

Its a white mini portion a little bit smaller than General White Mini. Once I put it in my upper lip a slight tingling sensation occured and then I was hit with a rush more like a euphoric buzz similar to have several cans of energy drinks. I could tell my heart rate instantly went up along with my alertness.

Overall if you need a quick pick me up this snus is for you. However, if you are sensitive to caffine or energy drinks I do not reccomend using it because the effect is delivered almost instantly. i know this is a rather small and meager review but its jsut something to throw out there for now.

    You beat me by minutes!

I, too, got my tin today and, oh, I so wanted to like this Northerner Energy Snus. I hoped to get something extra from a pouch tucked in my mouth most of the day. But ...

Did you ever spray your face with insect repellent and accidentally get the taste in your mouth? Yes? Then understand that Energy Snus has the taste of Deep Woods Off.

I thought my first portion might be just an initial rejection (I've rejected new snus that I later came to like), but, no, the second one hours later was just as nasty. I wanted Bit-O-Honey; I got Bit-O-Nasty.

The kick is definitely there. I'm not sure I like it. With both portions tried so far, I could feel my heart rate increase. That is NOT good. I did not feel more alert, however; in fact, I got sleepy. The nicotine, caffeine, taurine and guarana are more a knock-out punch than a pick-me-up. (Caution: Do not operate machinery or ride a motorcycle to work after snusing this.)

As for whitening .. this would be desirable, since many snus stain my teeth (a dentist couldn't even match the color not long ago when I needed a crown -- ugh).

Sorry, but I won't be ordering this again.

I got this snus as well. It's mini portions, and also appears to be dry. I like it though. It has a mellow taste. I put in 2 pouches and man it really kicks in. I don't see what's not to like, but to each his own. I have only been snussing for about 2 weeks and have a bunch of tins I ordered from northener that came to Long Beach, CA in about 5 days!! Anyway, that's my take on the energy snus

Thanks for the reviews, I'm interested in trying this one too. In comparison to Elixyr is the 'boost' more obvious, stronger, same or what? Is it worth trying this one over Elixyr or is one as good as the other strengthwise? I don't necessarily care much about the flavor as long as I can stomach it. It sounds like you guys are describing an almost drug-like slam while Elixyr, for me at least, has a fairly gradual pick-me-up effect.

Yeah, I interested in comparisons with Elyxr as well, for obvious reasons.

I might have my package from Northerner waiting at home. If so, expect a review sometime tomorrow, as mornings are my usual power snus time. I really do want to try and capture any differences between this and Elyxr, particularly as it relates to the effects. Taste, again obviously, is not my major concern

Give me a pris of ettan and a cup of coffee instead. I have never been a fan of "energy drinks" so I think I will let you guys field this one.

Personally, I can't stand Elixyr P&E but sagedil... I have to admit it works. I'm really looking forward to your opinion on this new one. I hope you like it.

LOL, well I really hope to prove you wrong my old friend. I got mine in the mail tomorrow and will be testing it out. As the lead proponent of Elyxr, I feel I simply can not wait. I think a few folks will be curious as to what I think.

And I have to ride a motorcycle to work.

So.......if you are reading my review, my friend TropicalBob is wrong. If you never hear from me again, well..........................................

OK, so I didn't crash my motorcycle....but the really short version, I did NOT like it. Tastes better than the Elyxr for sure, but the effects very different, not good.

I promise a full review tonight when I'm not at work.

Hope no one tries one of those stunts where they try to pack as many of these in their mouth as possible.

OK, so I don't have a bunch of time. But as the official Snuson Elyxr Power Energy Head Cheerleader, I think I need to formally weigh in and share my experiences from today.

So I was so excited to get the new Northerner energy snus. I think I have documented sufficiently here just how dependent I have become on Elyxr, so I was eager to give the new kid its shot.

Smell?? OK, really. Kind of sweet smelling, not to off putting.

Feel?? This is a wise product, no doubt about it. It has that same dry, scratchy feel as Wise does. I deal with the wise because it is a niche product for me, but I really don't like the feel in general. I recommend you wet it before fully inserting it in your mouth.

Taste?? Well, I can say one thing, it taste's a he** of a lot better than Elyxr. Not that I would ever recommend this on taste alone, compared to normal snus, it's not great. But for an energy snus, I think they do a great job of masking the taste of the caffeine and Taurine. After about 20 minutes, it goes from kinda sweet to very bitter very fast. The bitter itself is not bad, didn't really bother me too much, but it does, so be aware

Effects?? Now this is what really matters. All of the above is nice, but have no impact on whether I would use this or not. I am addicted to Elyxr because of how it makes me feel. No other reason

The Northerner Energy completely and utterly failed here. It's effects are VERY different than Elyxr. With Elyxr, my whole body just starts feeling better and better. My head gets clearer, I feel less tired and more alert, it is just a comfortable feeling of being alert and ready. I popped my first Northerner and headed to bed again. For the next 30 minutes, I felt it starting to take affect, but the affect was localized to my chest only. I wasn't feeling any better, but I could feel my chest tightening up, like it was getting wound tighter. After about 30 minutes, I rolled out of bed, checked the computer, and at the 40 minute mark, put another in. This is my typical routine with Elyxr.

The 2nd one did not make me feel any better, just made me feel more tightly wound. I rode to work, and NO, I did not crash my motorcycle, the Northerner did not affect me that much, and I do have a high tolerance for stimulants. By the time I got to work, it was clear that I didn't feel close to as good as I would have with the Elyxr. A couple cups of coffee, I was a bit better. But overall, not my best morning

And OH, my insides were ripped up all afternoon. Coincidence?? Who knows.

So basically, I hated the Northern Energy. It didn't even come close to making me feel better and fully awake and alert as Elyxr does. It just made me feel tweaked, with no good affects to go along with it.

Your mileage may vary. But I will stick with my trusty, tastes like a** Elyxr.

Wonderful review. You know I was speaking to you about riding the motorcycle ..

As a person who has used both, I agree completely that the Elyxr is much more potent. I've been repeatedly using the Northerner Energy Snus yesterday and today, with good nic hit, but that chest sensation is not good, as far as I'm concerned.

I have a doctor's checkup tomorrow and NO WAY would I use this before he checks me out. I'd end up on 10 medications.

I'm adjusting to the taste of DEET, however, and no longer find it so off-putting. Bitter-honey DEET, I think of it.

No, I won't buy it again.

LOL, yes I did know. Shame I didn't wait until tomorrow. Bike broke on the way to the dealer today. Damn chain is stretched out, and has eaten the sprockets alive, so waiting on new chain and sprockets, walking to work until next Tuesday.

Yeah, the Northerner is very one dimensional to me. I know I can feel a hit, but it is a hit that is just focused on my chest, the rest of me doesn't feel it. Elyxr is like this magical thing that just makes my whole body feel better.

I will wait and try it a bit more...but suspect I will either toss it, or see if someone here loves it, and send it off to them. Today was SO much better than yesterday when I was back on my Elyxr.
