I have a can on the way. With the offer Frank made, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to try a free can. Will be interesting to see first hand how this is compared to elixyr.
Northerner Energy Snus Review

You're a braver man than I am, Xobe...with the prospect of 5 free cans, I chose to go for 2 I knew I liked and 3 "experiment" cans. I jumped on my free can of General and Grov. (Yes, I'm an SM whore) But I felt like I owed V2 another chance, so I asked for Phantom Blue (classic didn't really turn me on all that much), Offroad Liquorice (because I loves my liquorice and you guys said this was the best one on the market), and Offroad Icemint (because I always look at it when I'm ordering and I'm never sure. This was almost OR Wintergreen, but I relented at the last moment).
Oh, and Energy snus tastes like butt. I had to stay on topic.

Folks, I normally say let people make their own mind up about snus. And I have jumped over anyone's a** if they tried to tell folks that Elyxr was sh**.
But here me, and if my 700+ posts mean anything, please take my advice. The Northerner snus is BAD. Not because of taste or anything like that, because it will make you PHYSICALLY feel bad. Try for yourself if you must, but I guarantee you that 99% of you will agree with me. Northerner really screwed this one up. And I hope to have time next week to write them about it. Other who have tried it and agree with me should do the same. this sh** should not be on the market.

Well,
I got my can today. There isnt much that I can say that hasn't already been covered.
I opened the can straight out of the box, tossed in a portion and left to walk the dog. Shortly thereafter, I could definitely feel that sort of "energy drink alertness". Not that I was more awake, but I was definitely feeling a bit tweaked.
I have had the portion in for about 45 mins now and the flavor is still pretty good (comparison basis being elixyr). I do not taste any bugspray or other nastiness that has been mentioned. The flavor is a bit medicinal, sorta reminds me of bearinjager liquor. The snus itself has a certain minty cooling effect (maybe from the baking soda or whatever is in there as a whitening agent?)
I must be in the minority here because I do not get the tightened chest sensation, and I almost enjoy the energy drink tweaked feel I get from just one portion.
I am going to give this one the early-morning wake-up test tomorrow. If it gets me up better than my usual elixyr does, I think I'll be ordering a roll of this stuff.

I'm afraid I agree with Xobeloot here - I actually quite like it and it's effects. It's obviously a Wise product and therefore it's not quite a real snus - there's no underlying tobacco flavour to speak of - but it's half way to a nicotine replacement therapy - only this one is a hi-octane version.
No racing heart or tight chest for me. I got the energy drink hit within 30 seconds! For me the sign is that my eyes instantly open wider. I think that the trick with these is only to use them for about 20 minutes or so - I can see how you only need so much stimulation and then it could be a bit much.
I will certainly keep one of these in the van - when I'm doing late night drives after gigs they will be fantastic and as they are Wise products - no problem with them going bad in the car either!Squeezyjohn
Sometimes wrong and sometimes right .... but ALWAYS certain!!!

I put in my request for my five free cans and said that if possible they could replace one of my cans with a can of energy snus. The wonderful folks at Northerner sent the five cans I suggested and threw in a can of the energy snus. I don't have the tight chest problem with this either but instead feel the way I do after a couple of cups of strong coffee. The effect doesn't last very long but is great for a pick me up IMO. This morning I popped a portion after putting my alarm clock on snooze and dozed back off. Ten minutes later I woke up completely feeling quite alert and ready to go. Funny but I don't taste honey but mint and energy drink funk. Not real snus IMHO but I'm pleasantly surprised with this one.

I like these quite a bit, the honey is much preferable to Elixyr's "flavor" for me and the effects are a bit stronger too. The buzz is worth the medicinal aftertaste and even then the cooling baking soda essence smooths everything out.
This stuff makes for a great pick-me-up that'll fit nicely into my routine (and they whiten teeth ). I didn't get any of the negative effects some posters experienced either, quite the opposite with just a pleasant little buzz. I regret not getting a roll now.

Diminishing return from Northerner Vs Elixyr PE:
I held off buying a roll of this stuff until I finished the can.
I adopted this wake-up method from our friend Sagedil, and I thank him for it every day!
With Elixyr, the same old routine has always worked. I set my alarmclock for 6am, get up, pop a single portion then go back to bed with the portion in. Within 30-45 mins I wake up and jump in the shower with no second alarm clock. Always the same, never any issues waking up.
With Northerner, The first day I tried to go back to sleep (with one portion) and was awake again within 10 min. Day two, it took a bit longer. Day 3 I went to two portions and it took 20-30 min to get me up. This morning was the last two portions I had. My alarm clock went off as it always does, I popped my two northerner portions, and before I know it i'm waking up and it is 7:10am.
My sleep (or lach thereof) habits have not changed at all.
I cannot say why, but the Northerner portions seemed to develop a natural tolerance EXTREMELY fast. The Elixyr portions have always done their job without any issue.
I will still order the occasional can of Northerner energy for a mid-day pick-me-up... But for my morning utility snus, Elixyr is still king.
