Hi everyone, I'm new to snus, I got my first cans 4 days ago, Gotteborgs Rapé Original Large Portion and Gotteborgs Rapé Lingonberry Large Portion. In that time I've used 5 of the Original and 8 of the Lingonberry (I've really taken to it). Earlier tonight I put in an Original in the same spot I've been using, only a couple of minutes after finishing with a Lingonberry, only to find, that it really hurt!
I switched it over to the left side and then there was no problem, but when I got home I had a look at my gum on the right side and there is a dark red sore there, right above my tooth. It's not bleeding or anything, but it feels sore and burned like hell when I put that snus there.
I realise that alternating sides is no doubt a good idea, but I was surprised at how quickly this welt had appeared. I only noticed it after putting in the Original.
So I'm curious, is this normal?
Of course from now on I be alternating, but I'm a bit concerned that I'll only just get welts on both sides. Could it possibly be because my gums aren't used to snus? Or should I calm down and ease up on the snus? I'd rather not do that because snus is awesome and it's already helped me cut down on cigs in a big way, but then, I'd also like not to have stinging red welts on my gums.
What part of the snus causes this, is it just the nicotine/tobacco, or the salt, or something else? Don't tell me the lingonberries have betrayed me.
Thanks everyone for your time in reading this
