Flying to Iceland in 3 weeks..can some one give me a concise answer

I've been 'dipping' since I was 13 (I'm 60). Being in the U.S. I prefer Copenhagen Long Cut....it's a moist oral 'snuff' not intended for the nose.
I just discovered that I will NOT be allowed to bring any into Iceland
What are ---if any-- my options to satisfy my age old addiction when I get there?
    Thanks for any clues!

Isn't there a Snus type product in Iceland, Lundi springs to mind but I might be wrong, off the top of my head it's a kind of Nasal snuff you can moisten.

But I could be talking rubbish, which is not uncommon for me.

roll in the suitcase a few cans with you on the carry on.

Make them find and take it, then play stupid if they do. I think you will get it through no problem.

Taffyjock, Susdog, thanks for the replies.
So hide some in the checked bag and the carry on.
I'm ok with that but what if they bar me from entry into the country for lying?
I'm sure on the flight in I'll be given a form to fill out for customs (been in many countries and this always happens), on the form
it always ask if you're bringing plants/guns/etc.
I bet on the Iceland form it will ask if I have in my possession 'dip'.
So I lie and check 'no' on the form, then they find it.....
What happens next? Lots of money invested to get there.....so be honest on the form and miserable for 3 weeks ???
        Your thoughts appreciated.

Hard time for mule-ing dip! Going to need some lube to pull off my "Alternative" method...... But a Whole roll? Yow! Gonna need to skip the bean soup before the flight!

According to this link, you are allowed to bring in up to 250g per adult 18yrs or older.

            http://goscandinavia.about.com/od/ic...omsiceland.htm

And this is straight from Iceland's Directorate of Customs saying the same thing.

            https://www.tollur.is/english/indivi...-free-imports/

So that would mean you can have 7 cans and get in with it as long as you declare that you have it and are able to show it to the customs agent when you go through customs if they ask to see it. I did not see any distinction into different types of tobacco...it just says loose tobacco.

              Excellent find Matt

I would run that off and have it somewhere on me so if they hassled me I could show it.

I know this may be too late, but for what it's worth I posted my first post here seconds ago and mention Icelandic snus (it's pretty easy to take a few cans with you and IF they search your bag and find it, granted that you don't have a suitcase full of the stuff, they should be very lenient and it most certainly would not cause any kind of charges or fines).

                      My post:

                      "Hello!

I am new to this board. I'm from Iceland but currently live with my wife in Australia. We are travelling and are currently in Denmark, so I decided to buy a few brands of snus to take home and have on our trip. Snus is illegal in Iceland and not sold in Australia to my knowledge. I've been snusing for a few years and have always used what most icelanders use which is a brand of snuff that's been manufactured in Iceland for years, simply called 'Neftóbak' (literally translates to 'Nosetobacco') It smells like a farm (sounds weird, but that's how it smells!) and is, quite frankly, the strongest thing I've put under my lip. It's pretty dry but loading it into a syringe and shoving it under the lip gives a real, long lasting kick. I honestly don't think anything can really beat it's strength. What other snus has over that is mainly the taste, but strength wise...this stuff is the shit! I usually have it sent to me in Australia and have no problems whatsoever, I've even had a few cans in my carry-on and the toll guys saw it and didn't say a word.

I prefer the loose version of snus since I'm so used to the strength of the Icelandic brand that the bags don't do nearly enough for me, but I like them as well, mainly for the taste and the ease of discarding it if not relaxing at home (getting rid of the Icelandic brand usually requires me to thoroughly rinse my mouth and preferably using mouth wash...for the pearly whites an' all).

I bought a few different types today, haven't tried them all but was very keen on trying the Siberian -80, the one that was supposed to be the strongest there is. I was quite happy with the strength. Really nice. I also bought some snuff, I used to use president and really liked the strength of that. It was nice to be able to buy that from a store since I usually had to meet a 'guy' that was 'dealing' back home lol. Attached is a picture of my haul and a picture of the Icelandic 'neftóbak' I urge you to try it if you ever get a chance, and if you have, comment and give me your thoughts on it."

Lundi is very weak in my opinion and not worth it, there is one other brand I didn't mention that I quite like called 'Skuggi' comes in 3 or 4 flavours. It's only sold at the duty free store to my knowledge (in the special room in the duty free store that houses all the tobacco, it's in a cooler with neftóbak as well). Neftóbak, however, can be purchase from ÁTVR (the liquour shops in iceland) and almost all gas stations, really. Just ask them for neftobak and they will give to you.

                          Hope this helps!

P.S. I suggest buying both neftóbak and skuggi in the duty free store, a can og 50g neftóbak is 50% cheaper there and I've bought as many as 6 at once (you can probably buy more even, they are pretty cool about it)
