It was banned by law already but it was possible to buy Makla in tobacco shops because they trated it as chewing tabacco. And people imported swedish snus more and more (39 tons in 2014, 50 tons in 2015). So Federal Office of Public Health decided to stop that,

There's no documentation I can find that shows why the Swiss government has imposed these laws at all ... but I guess they are still selling cigarettes in Switzerland?

If so ... this is a ridiculous situation ... the lowest harm causing tobacco product in the world is banned while people can compromise their life expectancy using cigarettes as a normal part of their day-to-day life ... ??? ... that is the very definition of crazy and if that's the kind of legislation nation states impose on their citizens then they should be overturned!

Seriously, it is baffling madness......I remember trying to get my head around the justification of the EU ban and the US PACT........its just criminal negligence and it still leaves me as baffled as it did back then
