    Thoughts on Knox?

This weekend was the 2017 St. Louis Snus Con and I had the opportunity to meet with the guys from Skruf. I learned something very interesting - Knox is extremely popular in Sweden. I'm just curious what you guys think about it. I've reviewed it in the past and found it to be solid, but it didn't stand out to me or anything. I just ordered the product line again to give it a second look.

Man it has been a while since I had knox. For a long time it was one of my favorites. At the time it was a good transition snus from dip because of its grind and strong flavor. However, about the time Skruf went through their company changes the quality of knox went down hill in my opinion......it got to the point that it was so bitter I could not even finish a can.....I haven't ordered any since.

Anyway, Chad I will be interested to see what you think of it. Maybe it has improved since my last experience with it

I've been using the new Knox Slim White lately, I just wrote a review of it a few days ago. Granted, it's been a while since I've had Knox White Portion - I think I originally did a text review of it back in 2009 and a video review maybe 2015, I think?

Anyways, I found the slim white portion Knox to be pretty good. It tasted better than most budget products I've had in the past. I've heard that Knox is a value priced brand in Sweden, but the prices are interesting on the various web shops:

      BuySnus:
      General - 5.10 USD
      Knox - 5.13 USD
      (Knox more expensive by $0.03)

      Northerner.com:
      Knox - 3.62 USD
      General - 3.72 USD
      (General more expensive by $0.10)

      TopSnus.com:
      Knox - 3.38 USD
      General - 4.74 USD
      (General more expensive by $1.36)

      SnusCENTRAL:
      Knox - 4.16 USD
      General - 3.47 USD
      (Knox more expensive by $0.69)

So in some places, Knox costs more, in some places, General costs more. So I'm not sure it can be called a "budget brand" anymore, if it costs more in some cases. Unless that is based on price point in Sweden, which I'm not sure what the difference is, or if it varies by region.

I know it started out as Skruf's budget line. I wonder if certain shops are getting price incentives from Swedish Match.

Regardless the pricing difference is interesting.

As far as the Knox portions go, I can't remember ever having one. My experience with Knox was strictly the Los

I like Knox ES portion now and then, rates along with Granit ES portion.....both well below General ES portion on the Burnsey scale.

          snus24.com - Knox ES portion - $ 3.22
          - General ES portion - $ 3.28

Man Granit is another one that used to be a staple in my rotation but which I have not had in years.......Granit never turned on me......there were just a lot of other offerings out there that have the same flavor profile that are just better IMHO

I know, I don't disagree whole heartedly.......but, variety is my aim to keep the pallet fresh, and I do like that hint of a lemon flavor from Granit.
