    Most untaxed in your mailbox?

What's the biggest order you've made, that wasn't taxed by your local post?

Snus from Sweden is duty free inside the EU (because we already have paid the Swedish taxes).

Otherwise, 22,- Euros is the maximum amount, if we purchase snus or most other things from outside the EU. For some products, like cigarettes, even every purchase is subject to duties. Most snus comes from Sweden, but there also is a new norwegian webshop (snusen.com), which I've never tried. The maximum amount will change to 150,- Euros with the beginning of the new year, which is a bit more consumer-friendly.

I once heard that 200 Dollars is the maximum-duty-free-amount for U.S.-citizens, but I'm not sure if this is true. Tax-laws are a pain in the ass, if you try to find real informations. I guess this is the same everywhere around the world.

        Cheers!

Did Sagedil get his snus in a large box? Sure could not fit in his mailbox or po box!

Actually, it came in a giant yellow envelope that the postman left on the ground in front of our mailboxes. Now I just put through a $120 order through Northerner, and they sent that in a box.

In the past, I've ordered one roll at a time. Obviously no tax there, and it comes in the normal A1 envelope. Recently I've decided that larger orders are more economical on the shipping, and I think I'll be ordering my General from getsnus.com since their shipping is much cheaper. I don't expect to be taxed on getsnus orders either, since they're coming from PA.

I always order a roll and some single cans at a time, never been taxed. How do they tax you anyway, I mean, do you get a bill or something? Or is the tax charge attached to the delivery on a piece of paper on large orders or what?
