    New to the forum

    Getting off the cigs I tried Marlboro mint a few years ago with some success but alas they went away. Just recently found General mint and love it. However, I'd be interested in knowing if there's anything out there that tastes as good as this but has more bite and lasts longer.

    I really do like this General mint and it's cut a pack a day smoker back to just a couple a day, and I don't even like them when I smoke them. So I feel like I'm pretty close to just doing away with smokes altogether. But some that has a little more bite and lasts longer I think would help. But I love the taste of this General mint so the flavor would also be important.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Welcome JRen,
    Many of us were in the same boat with cigs. I don’t always like mint, but when I do, I use Odens Extreme Cold. Not as sweet as General, and a bigger nic hit. There’s lots of different mint snuses out there, try several and I’m sure you’ll find one you really like

      To ME, Thunder Sweet Mint Slim White Dry taste the most similar to General Mint, and it is 11.2mg per portion instead of 8mg per portion. JMHO

          Welcome. I think Skruf do some mint portions that will be strong enough for you.

              Thanks all.

              Another question, do all online stores charge a ridiculously high freight charge?

              I've been looking on buysnus.com and picked out 3 different cans to try and the freight charge was way more than the snus. $45 for three cans is pricey.

                you need to buy more volume to reduce the price per can w/shipping....and look for sales.

                  Well being new to "exotic" snus I have no idea what I'll like so I don't really want to order a bunch of something and end up not using it.

                  I guess for the time being I'll pay a bit more to find out what I want. I'll definitely order in bulk once I find something I like.

                  So, I just ordered one can of N&J Crushed Ice white extra strong, one can of Odens Extreme Cold white, and one can of Siberia -80 Ice Cold white.

                  I guess I'll see. Supposed to be here by the end of the week.

                    We have warehouses in Denmark, Sweden and the US. So the shipping prices depends on which warehouse you buy from. Right now we're having a free shipping campaign. Last day today!

                      From looking at the different sites and shipping cost, snus24 has the lowest shipping, and there can price is around the roll price of other sites. To reduce cost per can, push the quantity to right before the next change in shipping. When trying new Snus, you are going to get some you will not like, but once you find the ones you do like, you can then order in larger quantity.

                      Snus.us
                      ?? to 37 rolls =$38.21 - 37 cans would be $1.0327 per can
                      38 to 50 rolls =$41.74 - 50 cans would be $.8348 per can
                      51 to 62 rolls =$45.10 - 62 cans would be $.7274 per can
                      63 to 75 rolls = $47.78 - 75 cans would be $.6371 per can

                      Snus24
                      13 = $24.13 - 13 cans would be $1.8561 per can
                      27 = $26.50 - 27 cans would be $.9814 per can
                      41 = $28.88 - 41 cans would be $.7043 per can
                      55 = $31.38 - 55 cans would be $.5705 per can
                      69 = $33.88 - 69 cans would be $.4910 per can
                      83 = $35.63 - 83 cans would be $.4292 per can
                      $37.75

                      Snus Central
                      $34.85 - 25 cans would be $1.3940 per can
                      $38.04 - 37 cans would be $1.0281 per can
                      $41.57 - 50 cans would be $.8314 per can
                      $44.93 - 62 cans would be $.7246 per can
                      $47.45 - 75 cans would be $.6366 per can
                      $50.64 - 87 cans would be $.5820 per can
                      $54.00 - 100 cans would be $.5400 per can
                      $57.19

                        Good break down Burnie, but it is by weight, no?

                        My last order from SC was 40 tins of my usual stuff and the freight was ~ $ 42. At the last minute I decided to throw on one can, a flavor I have not tried, and that one can bumped the total by ~ $6.50, so I took it out of my cart. You can play all day with the shopping carts and engineer the best value on shipping, but to my mind it's forty bucks. Anyhow, with sales, etc my "premium" snus was $ 4.45 a tin landed..... not bad.

                          Yeah, I play with the can numbers, too, and order when SC has “15 for the price of 10 cans” sales. It works out good when you know what you want. I really miss the pre-PACT days when you could order one or two cans to try, and only pay a buck postage for the mailman to deliver them.

                            Yes shipping is by weight, but the breakdown gives you an idea. I just keep adding one can at a time until it goes up, then back down one can. Also with Snus central, you get the roll price if you add a roll, then go up by one. My last order I got 37 of one and 15 of another, both were at the roll price per can.

                              If you're looking for something with a mint flavor, with more, and longer lasting, but along the lines of General Mint (which is a peppermint snus), these are my suggestions. I'll link to my reviews on these, as well.

                              First, in terms of flavor longevity. Original portions tend to last around 45 minutes, white portions around an hour, and white portions up to 1.5 hours. So it depends on how long you want a product to last.

                              Thunder Cool Mint Slim White Dry - twice as strong as General Mint, smooth peppermint flavor, and long lasting taste.

                              G3 Mint Extra Strong - similar taste to General Mint, a little stronger, but about the same longevity in terms of flavor.

                              Catch XRANGE - same strength, same portion material, but I like the taste of this one more than General Mint.

                              Nick & Johnny Crushed Ice White - this one is a mint blend, it's stronger than General Mint, and lasts about the same amount of time.

                              The Lab 12 Mint Strong - Stronger than General Mint, lasts about the same amount of time, but a milder peppermint taste.

                              Those products will have a similar flavor as they're all peppermint.

                              First of all, this is due to the PACT Act which requires tobacco to be shipped via a carrier that verifies age. The stores don't have any information control over that. If you're buying online, it isn't cost effective to just buy 3 cans. I buy 40 cans every 2 months, and with shipping included in the cost I pay 4.00 per can or less (depending on what is on sale). General is 7.00 a can here, so buying online, even with shipping included, is much cheaper than buying locally for me.
