Looking for Sweedish Snus Without Licorice Flavor?

    Hi all,

Came back to Snus after a while. I used to Snus Camel Wintergreen, but do like most of the Camel products. (Puts on flameproof suit) I've always preferred wintergreen for chew and snus which is odd because I also smoke cigars and hate flavors.

So I got a can of General Original and General Mint. The general original has too much licorice and bergamot flavor for me. The mint is a nice in between, but I'm back and forth over whether I like it more then the Camel Wintergreen. So I'm looking for a few things. A few Swedish Wintergreen options that are on the sweeter end. Then, maybe a Swedish tobacco flavor that doesn't have many flavor additives. Or maybe a Swedish that tastes more like the American (Camel) styles.

Trying to justify shipping on an order, so open to all suggestions.

I saw a list of peoples favorites, and don't see General Original. That motivated me to post, cause I don't like; but many say its the gold standard.

Can’t help with Wintergreen (don’t like it myself) but Jakobsson’s has a wintergreen and many of their snuses are sweet and strong flavored.

Odens has a pure Wintergreen (?) I think it's called.......not a fan of the flavor either....

Thanks guys... How about on the unflavored snus front? I am looking at Ettans. Heard to try Grov as well.

Basically want tobacco favors without additives.

i think Ettan and Grov have smoke flavour added. Have you tried Skruf?

            Hello Footbag, welcome to SnusOn.

If you want a snus without much flavor of any sort try Swedish Match's Tre Ankare White.

Swedish Match Wintergreen (available locally in the US) has a very strong wintergreen taste. It was much too strong for me.

I thought Oden's Extreme Creamy Wintergreen had a weak and muted taste.

I don't taste any licorice in Swedish Match General White (also available locally). It's probably my all time favorite snus.

General Mint is often described as spearmint flavor.

Thanks all! So my order showed up and I had a little time to try them out. Call me crazy, but I still like the sweetness of the American snus's.

That said, for a hearty snus, I do like both the Ettan and Grov. They were both earthy and strong. On the Grov, I picked up notes of oak, dried apples and borbon. It was also very peppery.

The Ettan had notes of baking chocolate and a similar pepperiness.

The mints are nice, but I still prefer the sweetness that the American's offer. Contemplating sweetening an Ettan or Grov to try it out.
