In the USA at least... It was maybe 10 years ago round about when I joined here... it was a series of events that led me to snus. Boredom at a job I hated, I started looking for smokeless and Bandits came to mind, which I got some at the corner gas station, and I had the internet then at work(their reason they fired me), which led me to Camel Snus, which led me to Swedish snus, which led me to join here, if my memory is correct. The webstore GetSnus was also around and it was so great. They were in the USA and shipped regular mail and it was inexpensive... they had something like buy 3 get one free... I think, or it was 5.. anyway, back then snus was great, it was new, exotic, interesting... and this forum was hopping. New people, new snus, reviews, trades, it was really active and exciting.... Then PACT hit and really near ruined it all.... The fun was greatly reduced. Now you had to pay high shipping and the items were no longer sold in the US and delivered in the mail. I think I made an order during this time... but I eventually just decided to quit it all. I don't think snus ever really took off in the USA. I haven't even seen the Camel Snus at the store, I'll look more closely next time, but dip and chew is there... Anyway, I just notice how this group was very active and now it's barely existing. What happened? Did PACT kill it? Did the new newness wear off? For me, I would say it was PACT that made it a hassle, expensive, and unfun.
Has snus interest died out?

Heya Tom! It's much less fun, and ordering has to be strategic, but it is what it is. The lack of new lössnus offerings is the biggest disappointment, but the limited release Mörkbrunt is fantastic. It's what Grov lös should have been. I gambled on Swedish Match knowing what they were doing, and ordered two rolls at the start, as well as a couple rolls of other snus. It later went on sale at snuscentral, and I bought three more rolls. That'll do til they re release Rallarsnus in the spring. Moral of the story, go big, or go home. You can't just try a couple cans on a whim anymore.
Like the adoption of gnu/linux, snus is growing slowly. The early enthusiasm has died off, and the government has done all they can to throw sand in the gears, but it's still marching onward. Good seeing you :^)
God Jul!

Good to see some old members posting! Welcome backGrant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......
I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

@lxskllr You might want to try Snus.biz. They're a small boutique snus maker in Sweden who currently only make lös offering. They're flavors are unique in the way SM is designing their Small Batch releases in Sweden and the border stores. Snus.biz takes PayPal and seemingly ships everywhere. Just don't fall in love with a particular snus as they are small batch producers. They can't produce enough quantity for eStores but will sell to you. The quality is great and the flavors innovative and good! Great guys too!Last edited by Mr. Unloadingzone; 31-12-18, 09:49 AM.

Opposite here. I got into snus when I quit smoking 10 years ago and joined these forums, then switch to vape. In 2017 decided that I dislike the vape for a number of reasons. The relative lack of stealth and the social controversy is part of that, but I also prefer "vices" that have a history and tradition, are natural and organic, and do not have batteries, software readouts and LED displays.
I can get General original pouches locally, but they're overpriced, and I miss the choices for some of the stronger varieties. Looking now for a good place to buy online, if I can.
