    So Skoal has snus now?

What's with the American Snus rush lately?

    Has anybody tried it?

I bought the citrus. Someone else had a thread with pictures.

15 long narrow portions that are dry as all hell. Smells and tastes like a chalky creamsicle. Turns black in your lip. Almost $4 too.

The portions are seriously so dry they crackle and grate between your fingers.

Tastes nothing like tobacco whatsoever. I'd say worth a try for novelty since I can't imagine them catching on. They don't possibly have enough nicotine for a smoker and a dipper would sooner chew on his boot than this stuff.

Why don't American companies release real snus? Why do they always have to make low quality & nicotine and dry snus? All hail Triumph (Swedish Match) for making real snus!

I really gotta agree here. I took a drive with my wife last night and for grins and giggles bought out Clayton Georgia of Triumph :P

I got 20 cans of Original and 2 token cans of mint. Out of any snus I have tried so far the original is the easiest on my mouth. I spent the day with Roda yesterday and last night it felt like I had an elephants nut sack in my mouth. Don't get me wrong, I liked the snus, but it felt like my tongue swelled up to twice it's normal size. Triumph has never done that yet. it is not as salty and I wonder if I am just not used to more traditional snus yet.

I love Röda, lös and portion, but I noticed that too, it reall has a deep burn for a white portion. I'm used to it now though and the flavor is killer. I am taking a break from it and anticipating my buysnus 50% off roll of General Onyx. I'm really digging Triumph in both mint and regular, I like the fact that it's wedge shaped portions in star formation like General sterk and Onyx, it's totally Swedish Match, even if it didn't say it on the can, anyone who's used any variety of a Swedish match snus would assume it's made by them, great stuff.

Tourney is another American snus that I really don't mind, it's dry and durable so I keep a can in my car for emergencies.

Here Triumph was 3.49 a can.

Now they are all 1.29 a can.

Think this shows that its not selling.

I believe this is mostly because people do not know what it is or how to use it.

Even the little booklet does little to explain the product and how to use correctly.

I think its poor public education on such a product.

You cant expect to throw a product such as that to the american public and expect them to know what it is.

I think this is why the product is approaching failure. Which i find very disappointing. Even the cashier and the managers/owners dont even know what it is.

Every store ive gone to and bought it the people asked me what it is and if its just another snuff product similar to skoal and so on.

After i take the 5 mins to explain it they all look at me like , wow, i had no idea about this stuff.

When i worked in retail and in other businesses when you make a new product to sell you work with your distributors and retailers to educate them on it and help give them tips on how to push the product.

Seems like Lorilard just said ,"ok, here is a new product. Put it on displayy,, here are some poster. Ok now sell, sell, sell."

Cant push a product that new like that.

^Most Americans believe snus is worse for your health than cigarettes. If Swedish Match tried to educate the public about the (relatively few) health effects of snus, there would be an outcry from both the most liberal and conservative Americans, and not to mention the anti smoking groups...

                You got it, snusjus.

I've actually decided to stop ordering PM 1847, even though I like it, and I'm not even going to try Pall Mall. PM can make decent snus in Sweden, and we get what.....'flavor strips'? No thanks.

You shouldnt NOT use a snus just because it sports a cig name.

The use of cigarette brand names for snus just seems to be a marketing gimmick to help sale a product and compete with the huge market giant swedish match.

Pall Mall and Lucky Strikes are the only portions I use because they taste the best to me.

Pall Mall is at the top of the list because its just a great tobacco taste with the right amount of salt taste for me. its what ive been looking for.

It is traditional snus that meets all criteria set by swedish law.

The only SM products i use are Ettan Los and General Onyx ( only on occasion, not too big of a fan of stark)

American Companies, sure they fck up when it comes to this, but we have been spoiled on the real deal snus.

the american market is pretty damn ignorant when it comes to snus.

Most have no clue what it is nor the desire to find out or use it.

The use of Cig comapny names in Real swedish snus are just a gimmick to sale and in no way reflect lack of quality or standards.
