    traveling with snus

I will be making my first out of town trip since I started on the snus, any tips for traveling with it? Will be a 2 day drive, should I pack a cooler with some ice in it to keep it cool? Going to be out of town for 10 days, so I was planning on taking around 10 cans with me of different varieties to keep me satisfied.

I travel with snus fairly often. If you are only traveling for 2 days I wouldn't worry about packing a cooler with ice unless you prefer to use cold snus. I would try to get it in the fridge soon after you reach your destination though.

I wouldn't fret about 2 days unrefrigerated though.

    My 2 cents.

I use a smallish cooler and some blue ice blocks. You can refreeze the "ice" during overnight stays.

I take a cooler with me, but I'm used to doing that at work so it's nothing different for me. It isn't essential that you do that. Snus will keep fine unchilled. I use a 2 liter bottled filled with water, and frozen as a cool pack.

I'd worry about loose drying up, but not about portions so much.

I was considering taking my offroad tin and filling it with 10 different cans of snus, and sticking this into my drink cooler for the trip.

This will be my first real challenge since quitting smoking. Anytime I would take long car rides I would chain smoke like a MFer.... Course, maybe that's why I felt like shit after traveling 1300 miles in 18 hours. Nonstop coffee and cigs is a bad recipe for feeling shitty in the end.

I just did two 12 hr. trips not too long ago... I had 6 varieties that I kept in the cubby hole in front of my gear shift... I used to smoke like a freight train when I was on road trips, but I just snused as normal with no problems...

I do the same as Steel. Small cooler with blue ice packs and your snus. I like to keep it cold.

I have never had a problem with carrying snus in my suitcase. The cheap swedish match containers I have had problems with at home. I got a can that dried out in my refrigerator. If your snus is in plastic cans, you should not have a problem with them drying out. If you get the cheap cardboard cans, by all means refrigerate or cool them so they do not dry out as fast. I hate the cardboard can but really like the product that comes in them. I had a previous thread complaining about the crappy cardboard container that some snus comes in but I don't think it really matters to most people.

I have traveled for 6 days with snus, never refrigerated, and never a problem. The longer I use, the less I worry about keeping them cold. I used to be religious about keeping them in the refrigerator when not is use. Lately, I just don't seem to bother and have noticed no deterioration issues.

I have taken a number of tins of white portions on trips of up to a week, including overseas. The stuff keeps OK and no hassles in security etc. at all.

I took a nearly 2 week trip earlier this year, and like you, I wasn't sure about this. I packed up about 6 tins of portions in my suitcase, about 2/3 of it was Swedish Match product. I didn't refrigerate, and it was all fine. I wouldn't worry about keeping it cold, if I were you.

The way I figure it is, if keeping snus cold was a health/safety issue, buysnus and northerner would ship your snus in a dry-iced container, like if you have a philly cheesesteak shipped from Jeno's in Philly. Since they don't, I wouldn't worry about it; although I can definitely say a cold pris of los is tastier than a warm one.

Actually you should be able to taste more when it is warm......tell me to shut up.

The only snus I really enjoy quite warm is Offroad cranberry. Tastes like chocolate cranberry, but most of you have heard that from me already.
