    Klondike

    Jamesstew:

People would switch from dip to Klondike because Klondike is snus, with lower nitrosamine levels than classic US dip, but with the same flavors and formats that US dippers are used to.

Point taken, however aren't the levels of TSNA's much lower now in American dip than in the past? I've heard that dip manufactured by SM and others is on par with snus as far as TSNA's are concerned.

Yeah, TSNA counts in snuff compared to snus is pretty similar.

For me, snus is nice because i can go out into public without a spit bottle and no big fat lip bulge.

I have in some copenhagen snuff right now because to me its hands down the best flavor tobacc out there.

I also use snus all day.

I use both and enjoy both.

TSNA counts dont bother me because im going to use what I want.

          dip vs snus TSNA

          Jamesstew:

Swedish Match's US TSNA levels for dip products such as Timberwolf are indeed within a few points of snus. UST's Skoal and Cope are still stratospherically high.

Hey, I wish them the best of luck and hope awareness is raised to the level that they may consider introducing something closer to Taboca here.

I don't understand why the snus companies are setting themselves up to compete for the dip market when they should just market their unique and historically proven quality Swedish style products. They'd probably get some people to switch from dip, but they'd get a lot more smokers too, and they wouldn't have to invent tons of new product lines.

IMHO, they are targeting dip users because dip users are more likely to use snus than smokers.

Its nice people like us used snus to quit but I know more smokers who would turn a cold sholder to spit/spitless tobacco. It just doesnt appeal to them.

More friends of mine who dip love using my snus than the ones who smoke.

They just think its nasty to put tobacco like that in their mouths and have no reason to try it.

Its marketing to dippers that will start ganering a market, smokers who use snus lik eourselves come around from time to time but dip users are more prone to buy the stuff, not smokers.

                  Klondike

                  jamesstew:

Let them know you feel that way. In the meantime, get your fix from Swedish Internet shops or your local SM retailer selling General or Ettan.

Frankly, the amount of US consumers with a taste for Swedish snus is so small that they will always be treated as a small niche in the US.

Right, I definitely will continue buying from Buysnus and Northerner but I definitely think Swedish snus could take off in the US.

Anybody had a chance to try the Nordic Ice Snus by NAT. It's on their website alongside the Klondike selections. It looks like something that may appeal to all the Catch lovers on this forum.
