    I got a "Cuban" Snus...

Just an odd note - in my latest order, I opted to receive a free random tin of Snus. When I pulled out the newly-arrived snus, I was pleasantly surprised to find a tin of the Romeo y Julieta portion snus tucked inside. It's not the Montecristo that I love (and am out of) but it's still good shit.

    Hurray for illegal contraband.

Edit: Wow, I just realized how pointless this post is, and how little it may contribute to the forums. Yikes, I must be bored at work or something!

Most likely Buysnus with the free random can.

Let us know how it tastes. I have a few tins of it coming from a friend in Canada, so I should know soon enough.

I don't think Taboca is using Cuban tobacco anymore for the Romeo and Julietta portions. At least that's what I heard.

Thought I would try these Cuban Snuses as was curious when I saw BuySnus had moved them to their strong section saying that they were 11mg Nicotine.

Got a Montecristo in at the moment. Cool tin. I think it might be a bit too rich tasting for me but the nic buzz is quite good. I'll see though. Got some Romeo and Julietta to try later also. Not sold yet. Skruf Stark is still my favourite at the moment

                Aren't Jakobsson's, Gotlands, and Taboca also 11mg?

I think Jackobsson's, Gotland's, Skruf original and Offroad are 9mg (as opposed to the standard 8mg ones like General etc) Not sure about Taboca. The strong ones tend to weigh in at about 11mg I think.

Romeo and Julietta says that it's Chinese tobacco. It appears it's only Montecristo that is Cuban (as Jamesstew said)

I find this hard to believe. As a matter of fact, I think it's ridiculous. Can you (or anyone) put-up a link to the source of this info? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Yes, this was from BuySnus.com, but I didn't post it in the retailer forum, so I didn't explain where I bought it from.

As recently as a month ago, BuySnus was not allowed to sell Montecristo/R&J snus to the US due to the embargo against importing Cuban-origin goods, and given the marketing of those brand names that are intimately associated with Cuban tobacco, it would be a bit hard to believe they'd stop using Cuban tobacco, but who knows?

If you look at RobME's old post from about a month or so ago, there's some discussion on what tobaccos are in these snuses as well as the legality of importing them.

Basically, I think BuySnus accidentally messed up and gave me something they shouldn't've... but no complaints here.

Ooops! Sorry! My eye sight isn't what it used to be. I thought it was weird when I read it as China. Taking a closer look (with my glasses on this time) it does say Cuba and not China.

I'm pretty sure the bloke from Gotlandssnus who pops up here from time to time said that the GS portions were 11mg. I may be wrong though, but methinks he said the nic was that high but the PH was lower.

Not to get off topic, but Gotlandssnus green is my all time favorite portion!

This snus seller lists nicotine content.
