    L-D Black is gone?

I just inquired with the Northerner about L-D Black, and they told me it's discontinued... I really wanted to try this since so many think it's the best licorice flavor out there...

Yeah, they got rid of all or most of the LD brands and some of the Gustavas varieties.

Well I ordered a stock from buysnus.com... I hope I like it, because I'm running out of room in my freezer!

Gotlandssnus gra is also a quality licorice. Tastes almost exactly like LD black. Both are very good snuses.

^^^ That's good to know, because I like Gotlands Grey, but they tend to get bitter after they're in for a while.

WTH?!?! It was only supposed to be the minis they were discontinuing :^(

LD Black was better than Gotland Grå for pure licorice. The Gotland is more herbal, and has that bitterness(which I enjoy), while the LD is pure silky black licorice. Offroad licorice Lös is a very good licorice snus. I haven't tried the portions, but I generally dislike Offroad portions.

While I like both the Gotlands and LD, I find the LD to be more of a 'candy-like' licorice presentation of the two. I get flavors from Gotland other than straight licorice/anise along with the bitterness near the end. The LD is also the "Energizer" of the snus world as its flavor keeps going and going. I sometimes take one before bed and still get licorice in the morning. Looks like Buysnus still has it too.

                  LD Black

It seems Gallaher (now JTI) Sweden has sharply rationalized the snus portfolio (except for the poo-stain LD "white" portion). Their investment in snus these past few years has been almost nil, and they've moved the category to Switzerland for management. A shame that they seem to have bowed out. The LD launches in 2005-6 were kind of exciting

Well I just got my first, and probably my last, stock of L-D Black... Too bad, because this stuff is really good. I like it better than Gotlands Gra, and it's head and shoulders above Catch Licorice...

The flavor is awesome, it lasts a long time, and portions are like velvet compared to other portions...

It's very good, but a little strong for my liking, I prefer the Gotlands myself.

                          Shameless self promotion. 8)

Selling 3 tins in the Snus Exchange (+3 others). Half price or trade for snuff.
