I'm baby new year to snus, have only tried a few, but so far the differences seem profound.

Gustovas portions: found a couple of cans of this (rapidly approaching their "best if used before dates") in the bottom of the fridge today when I couldn't handle the Offroad anymore and was desperate for an option.

:? Offroad wintergreen strong portions: WAY too salty, got really slimey really quick. Biggest gripe is that it seemed to loose it's potency. I've been Jonesin' something fierce for the last few days, and that stopped when I dove into a can of Gustovas this afternoon when I got home from work. If that hadn't worked I'd have been at the corner store buying smokes again.

Grovsnus portions: could be specific to me, but this stuff ate my gums alive.


I smoked cigarettes 30 years and had tried everything but drawing pentagrams in goats' blood on old growth pine board floors to quit. I found this forum by accident a couple of months ago, and got my first order the first week in October. Been some incredibly uncomfortable days, and I still really enjoy a good cigar, but I'm still on track as far as I am concerned. Thanks for being a resource.

Yeah, today was the day when I tried Göteborgs Rape loose and it`s great! Allso Göteborg portions are good too, like the bitter but smooth lemon taste

A bit new to the game but here is a list of what I've tried thus far and my impressions:

Göteborg's Rape, Göteborg's No. 2, General, Röda Lacket

Catch Eucalyptus, Catch Classis Menthol

Mocca, Kronan, Tre Ankare

:x Catch Licorice, yuck...

Keep in mind these are all portions and some have been minis. I'm already leaning toward preferring the white portions because they seem to last longer. I'm not sure if I'll ever go the loose route because I rather enjoy the convenience of portions.

I know Catch isn't very well received around here, but I really enjoy the Eucalyptus and Menthol flavors. It gives me three benefits: fresh breath, great taste and greater anonymity at work. Basically its like having gum you don't have to chew.

I am really into the Göteborg's stuff now because I really like the juniper in the classic recipe and the lingonberry in No. 2. General is great, love the peppery taste. The Roda Lacket has grown on me and I think I'm getting a taste for the classic snus taste. I'll be trying Ettan soon and from what I've heard, I think I'll like it.

First time snusing, since I'm use to Skoal straight and Red Man chew, this is quite a change.
