I just have ordered 3 cans of each to try some new tastes, all are portions.

    ettan
    Knox

i have been using General for a while it, was the only taste i have, but i decided to try some new brands.

But when i tryed Knox i see that its not just as wet as General and dont give the same nicotin nicotin kick.

    Is it normaly for knox?

and can it be couse it took 2 days to ship and meaby dry out?

Sorry for my english it not the best i know

    regards Andy

    Hi Andy!

I've never had Knox, but I just wanted to say welcome to the forums! I'm sure someone here has experience with Knox, and can answer your questions...

It could be drier because its cheaper snus and because of the way its made.

Ive had knox that was good and moist like skruf and general but iive also received it where it was a lil dry like u mentioned.

I didnt notice a difference in nicotine but i think it has to do with quality.

Andy, I don't think your Knox has dried out.

I find Skruf, Knox and Gotlands products to all sit between a regular portion and a white portion with respect to moisture...

General is very "juicy" in comparison. The Grov and Retro will be more similar to what you are used to.

Personally I like the fact that Knox and Skruf is a little bit drier because it doesn't drip as much.

I am not sure about the nicotine content but I believe it is the same as General

Knox does seem dryer than General. Published nicotine amounts are the same. Although my first few portions of general seemed to hit just a tad harder than others I have tried. Maybe there is something in them that allows better absorption.

It may be that the moister portions allow for a higher alkalinity right from the start and nicoteen is absorbed quicker (my $0.02, for what it's worth).

I think everyone here would love 2 day shipping time. No, your cans won't dry out that quickly.

                  Andy,

Knox is one of my favorite portions and pretty much my go to portion. It has been said that the Skruf products seem a little drier than the others and I would agree. For quality, Knox is a snus I would spend more money on. It's a very cheap snus but easily compares to the more expensive brands. If I could make a suggestion though, when you use it pop it on your tongue give a little bite with your teeth and put in place with your tongue. This will help moisten it and fluff it a bit.

Knox is my favorite; enough so that it happens to be the only one I have ever purchased in roll form. I agree that Skruf products as a whole seem to be a bit more dry than most, but I find the juices to be a little strong when they get going anyway, so that's fine with me.

You should try the los; it's awesome!

                      Hi Andy,

I have to echo the comments of other Knox lovers on the forum here, it is really great stuff. I think in terms of the nicotine content (and please correct me if I'm mistaken because this is just off the top of my head) Knox is the same as all Skruf (non-stark) portions, weighing in at 9mg/g nicotine vs 8mg/g nicotine in the swedish match products.

In terms of quality, I think the deal is really this; essentially Skruf use all the top parts of the leaf in their Skruf products. So it is my hunch that perhaps they put the bottom parts of the leaf (and occasionally some stems) in the Knox product. Now whether this affects quality really is personal preference. In terms of the nicotine content, I would imagine they are all standardized anyway due to the pH and other such things I don't really understand so I don't think this i an issue. Obviously this has a bit of an impact on taste, I would characterize Knox as being a much 'darker' tasting Snus than Skruf original, and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the cuts used or just the flavoring mixture. Either way, I wouldn't let this put you off, as it is definitely my 'go-to' budget Snus.

It really doesn't feel like a cheap snus to me, I would pitch it more in the mid-range category. However, if you're really bummed by the dryness of the Skruf products, I can recommend Granit portion, which is a little more expensive but also quite similar to General. However, the main drawback I found with Granit is that the bags seem to be a little bit on the light side. Having said this, Knox is actually 22.6g (I think) rather than 24g in most products, so it's really down to personal preference.

Either way, I would steer clear of Phantom (sorry xobe) since it has a real different character to most of the other products, however, it's probably worth giving it a 1-can tryout, because it does appeal to some people... and it seems to be a love/hate relationship there :P

                      Peace!
