I feel like i'm taking crazy pills

For the love of me i can not taste the citrus taste in general portions.

I taste the pepper and salt, but there is no citrus; i've tried white and regular portions. am i the only one not tasting this?

I don't taste any citrus either. I just barely taste the cranberry in Skruf Tranbar.
Point being you are not alone. Of course 20 + years of smoking and HOT wings may have ruined my taste buds.

One thing I have found is that you need to 'prime' your mouth first in order to get the most out of the snus flavor.

      Here is what I do...

I usually take one or two test portions and then throw the tin back in the fridge for a few days.

After a few days, when I go back to that snus, I have found that I can taste more of the subtle flavors.

At first I was really put off by the saltiness but after a few days of use I got past that.

Give it a try a few days from now and you might find the flavor more complex.

You are definately not alone Penny. As is said here many times, tastes change and I, for one, am experiencing that right now.

When I first tried General Sterk, or any portion for that matter, I couldn't taste the saltiness to the extreme that everyone else did.

I've been laying off the portions lately for lös at home and snuff while at work but this week, I deceided to try some portions at work to give the old schnozz a break.

The General Sterk was so salty the first day that I couldn't keep it in for more than 15 minutes without my stomach turning. The next day I tried the Skruf Tranbar and the Cranberry taste came shining thru with little saltiness when about a month ago, I could only taste the salt.

Long story short, sometimes it takes a while for the tastebuds to adjust. Now, day three, I don't notice the saltiness of Sterk and am beginning to taste the subtile citrus taste. (Lemon to be exact) Sorry for the long post but, I hope this helps!

That's because there's barely a hint of cranberry flavor in Tranbar. Far better (imho) is Offroad's Strong Cranberry, which has a lot more nicotine as well.

It's taken me about a stock and a half of General portions for the citrus flavor to really come through... I think that once my taste buds got used to the tobacco then the other flavors started to come through...

A couple cans of that will be in my next order.

You're definitely not alone here... I've been using General as my staple for like 18 months now, and I still don't taste anything I could say was distinctively citrus :P It's kinda a hard taste to sum-up really, a little bit smokey, salty, a bit peppery... the phrase 'the one taste' really does cover it though. There's nothing that tastes like General once you are in love with it

Just out of interest, what do you guys prefer? Sterk/Original or White portions? I'm really digging the Sterk right now, although I don't think the flavor lasts as long as with the regular whites, perhaps it lasts about the same as the originals though.

                Peace!

I like Original, Onyx, and Sterk portions in that order... Onyx is great, but it's a bit rich so I'm laying off of it for a while until I finish my supply of Sterk...

I've had about 10 cans of General maxi in the last month and I can taste citrus everytime. Its like the subtle sourness of hints of dried orange peel, not OMG ORANGE. General Onyx on the other hand has a more pronounced orange flavor IMO. I think Onyx tastes like creamsicles.
