    some new experiences

Although I still have a lot of snus in my refrigerator, I simply couldn't postpone trying General Sterk, so I ordered a roll. The reason being that I really liked the flavor of General White, but didn't like the lack of nicotine kick. Ok, so now I've consumed one can: really impressed! A better everyday snus than N&J, since the flavor is more neutral and "discreet", while still delivering a sufficient quantity of N to keep me off the smokes. Maybe this will become my default snus, but now I also have to try Ekstra Sterk and Grov Black.

I'm in the US at the moment, and decided to try some dip. Consequently, I went over to the local strip mall and bought a random flavor: Grizzly Wintergreen Pouches: the kick is good, but it tastes like.......sweet toothpaste. Also, I'm so used to upper-lipping snus that it automatically goes to the same place....I also forced myself to lower-lip it, though..... what's the point? And why do people say that one needs to spit: no need at all! Is there some other kind of dip that comes in pouches and tastes better and/or is stronger? Am I missing out on anything if I use it like snus?

First,as to the Sterk. I love it too. And it has replaced N&J now for me as my standard Strong to keep on hand. Although I see there are new one's to try so we shall see if it keeps that place. But I too love the "gentleness" of the flavor.

As for US Dip. I tried too. But just didn't like it. Sorry, not my thing. At least I can say I did it, but snus, for me at least, is just WAY better!!!

Well Multinic, there are certainly many more brands other than Grizzly as well as a multitude of flavors. The best dips, imo, are the ones with no flavor though and there are quite a few of those too. Although I'm sure it has it's fans, I don't find Grizzly to be very appealing at all. You might want to try one of US Smokeless's many selections or even Swedish Match's Redman.

Lower lipping is part tradition, however, many dippers who use 'loose' dip, put far more tobacco in their lower lip than can be placed succesfully up top. If you do it that way, you might see why most of us spit when dipping. Good luck with your experiments and hope you enjoy!

Ok, so I guess I should try Redman. I would also like to try a really strong dip, but I would prefer pouches. Is Copenhagen the strongest?

Yep Multinic, if you want the strongest dip then you want Copenhagen snuff. I've never found anything else stronger in flavor and nicotine than Cope. When I tried the pouched version I was quite disappointed and had to use several at a time to equal the original Cope snuff. I didn't find the Longcut version satisfying either. Every time I tried the 'new and improved', it felt like a waste of money and I always ended up going back to the snuff.

*I don't know anything about the new energy dip in bakerbarber's post or it's nicotine level, but it does look interesting.

I guess I have to try original Cope. I'm a little intimidated by it (same reason why I've never ordered los snus), but in the privacy of my bedroom it would at least be a consensual act between my brain and mouth.

haven't given sterk a try yet, but that was pretty ballsy to order an entire roll without sampling it.

as far as the dip goes, i've tried it, but after doing it regularly for a little while, i could feel it start tearing up my gums. Cope, is obviously the most famous and one of the "better" brands, if you like the tobacco flavor go with Cope. Alternatively, if you like sweeter, flavored tobacco give Skoal a shot. I enjoyed the peach and citrus flavors. Grizzly's sort of the poor man's dip, and pouches are for pussies. If you want the real dip experience (and a pretty sick buzz) you gotta go loose.

At last someone had the courage to say it. Welcome to the forum, pingsc!

                  Cheers!

I tried Cope Snuff yesterday and hated it. I didn't like the flavor and I didn't like the mess. The kick was ok, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. I also tried apple-flavored Skoal, which was absolutely disgusting. On the other hand, Grizzly Wintergreen is growing on me (like a mixture of strong snus and toothpaste), and it's cheap, so I might go and buy some more.
