Finally able to return to snus

Hey guys. I've been away for awhile.. both from the forum and from snus itself. Life, being what it is, has been hectic over the last few months. Just as I was getting to know some of you (and loving snus) I had other things to attend to. But I'm happy to say I just received my second order from buysnus.. and I'm thrilled.

I got 2 cans each of Ettan and Grov because I really loved them last time, as well as a can of General. Last time I had all white portions, this time all normal portions. All the tates I remember are there, but so much stronger. And it seems as though the nic kicks in much harder and faster with regular portions -- big plus. I also got some new stuff I wanted to try:

Goteborgs Rape' No. 2 -- My god, this is wonderful! I tried the original in my first order and I thought it was decent. I happily finished the can but I don't think I'd buy another. But wow, what a difference with No. 2! The only downside of this one is that after the flavor has run out, it starts to taste like flavored wax. You know those wax lips we had as kids? Slightly flavored, but still tasted nasty? That's sorta how it gets after about an hour. But what a great hour it is!

Gotlands Green -- This is a beautiful snus! What a complex and original flavor.. starts out with a wonderful apple taste, which morphs into a traditional salty-snus taste, which then morphs again into a sour taste. Probably the most complex and enjoyable snus I've had yet. A+

I also got a Skruf Sterk and Julesnus, which I haven't tried yet. And a Mocca+ for the girlfriend, which she seems to really enjoy. Regular potions were too big and the flavor (mostly salt) was too intense for her, but she says the size of the minis are perfect.

All in all, a great order. I look forward to getting back into the forums here and talking to the rest of you about the wonder of snus!

When life's hectic a snus is just what you need to chill out.

I hate the west of Norway, where I live, there's not a huge variation of snus at the stores. Mainly there's the Generals', Skrufs', some Ettan, Gøteborg Rapè, Nick and Johnny and Mocca, oh and of course Old Viking and another one I can't remember.

I heard from one fellow that the Julesnus wasn't all that good, please test it and post about it? :^D - I so want to try it.

Julesnus not very good? Are we talking about the Gotlands Julesnus or the V2 product?

If it is the Gotlands Julesnus I couldn't disagree more. The Gotlands Julesnus is a great snus and tastes like glögg mixed with ginger bread. I would suggest getting a few cans at least.

What is Old Viking snus? Is that a brand only available in Norway?

Also, is Skruf Original lös (not Stark) widely available in Norway? A friend bought me a can in Bergen but I can't find it online. If it is I might have to jump on a plane at some point to go buy a few rolls

Completely agreed. I love this snus and is probably the only flavoured portion snus I buy in large quantities

Hm, I don't snus loose much but when you mention it I mostly see Skruf Stärk loose. I'll tip ya if I see a few boxes.

Just tried the Skruf strong and Julesnus..

Skruf is everything I expected it to be. Strong tobacco, citrus notes, and a massive jolt of nicotine. Perfect.

Julesnus is a different matter. Went back to buysnus and checked, yes, it's the V2. And that means everything you think it does. Don't get me wrong, if I use my tongue and smoosh some juice out, the flavor is nice.. but there just is something wrong with the paper they're using. Yeck. It's a shame because I think what's inside there is some tasty stuff. Maybe the loose is good, I dunno. Just for the heck of it I tried to dump out two portions, but the stuff is too dry to stick together and just made a mess.

I'm going to stick with it though and see if I can get accoustomed to the taste of the paper because I really think this stuff could taste good.

I see that Gotlands is what I was wanting to get. I didn't realize there were more than one when I was ordering. If it's half the quality of their Green portions, it'll be 10x better than the V2 I have now.

I haven't had V2's jule snus, but I haven't liked any of their portions yet. I'll get a tin or 2 of the lös when I get the Gotland's Jule. V2 does a much better job with their lös products. I doubt you'll be disappointed with Gotland's Jule snus. It's tops in my book, and perfect for the holiday season.
