    Best non swedish match brands?

Well swedish match makes some great snus but whats everyones experience with other brands?

I've tried the skruf stark and skruf cranberry portions, both were excellent.

But... the offroad cranberry was disgusting and I don't think I'm going to use it except in dire circumstances.

Whats some other great or horrible snus that are not swedish match?

For some reason I find myself almost instinctively in favour of non-Swedish Match brands, even though they do make some great snus, obviously. The English attraction to the underdog, perhaps.

I've found the likes of LD, Skruf and Gotlands to be very good, worth a try. I didn't like Level when I first tried it, but that's grown on me too.

A good thing about Skruf (and, I believe, Gotlands) is that it's lower in TSNAs, the harmful chemicals in snus.

Apparently Rallarsnus is excellent, but you'll do well to find any.

Thanks, I really like skruf stark... its the only snus I get excited about before I use. I will need to try out LD and Gotlands.

Yes, all the lucky ones who tried it seem to adore it. It's placed high on my 'must try-list' ... on my next trip to Sweden I just have to search harder.

I found the Diplomat snus from F & L quite good. It's not far from General in taste and feeling, I think - a good everyday brand that comes in both loose, original and white portion.

Yep, Rallar is THE snus . My favourites are propably Skruf stark & cranberry, I also enjoy the full flavour of LD black. Lucky Strike is good too.

It certainly seemed that to me - definitely F&L's shot at taking a slice out of the huge General market. If General is Coca-Cola, Diplomat is an attempt to be Pepsi

                SnusDirect has Rallarsnus in stock

                http://www.snusdirect.com/snuff/rallarsnus-loose.htm

Rallarsnus = Navy Snus... sailors know their shit when it comes to tobacco, I guess  Tre Ankare (three anchors) is quite good as well, though it's only available as portions.

Zero, the Coke/Pepsi reference is just perfect!

Guess your right about your sailor/tobacco postulate too ... but still, I really find Tre Ankare to be one of the worst snus brands for me. Think it tastes like sour mud (I remember it from certain weird moments in my childhood).

Well, I've never tried rallarsnus but Tre Ankare certainly seemed, from what I remember, to be something of an acquired taste - I enjoyed it but can definitely see why it's not for everyone.

For shits and giggles I stuck a roll of rollarsnus into my cart and proceded to checkout to see how much shipping and all would come to. I got this responce:

                      Dear Client,

We have currently closed our shop until further notice.

 d'oh... so much for that plan, then.

I thought they had stopped making it, actually, but seemed like this place still had it...must be because their shop is just horribly out of date :?

Both L.D original and skruf Cranberry are good. I haven't tried to many brands, but will continue to try non (swedish match) snus and compare. Seems like some ot the other brands can be a good buy.

Have some granit, level, and kicks coming. Northerner has/had a special on kicks, buy one get one free. Had to try it. 8) [/img]

Yea, the main reason I'm curious about other brands of snus was that I was so impressed by the skruf stark. Its gotta be my second favorite.

Yeah, I've had about 15 cans of LD Red. Very good indeed.
LD is good too in an Ettan sort of way but different. Only tried 1 can though. Seemed to have a bigger nic-kick than red (plus the different taste).
