Just read the article and clicked on the link to the left on Skruf Snus. You can find this quote in the bottom of the second paragraph.

Nevertheless, you do not need to spit after taking Skruf Snus tobacco product. The specialty of this unique product is that it is fire -cured rather than steam-cured. It includes no additional sugar and it is completely fermented.

Is this true? Is skruf fire cured and fermented. Isn't this supposed to be bad for health as compared to steam cured?

Honestly, lifes too short to give a s***

Even with American Dip being fire cured they have reduced TSNA counts considerably

Dont worry whether a product is fire cured or steam cured, worry whether or not you enjoy it.

Grim, that's one way to look at it

Personally, I'd be wary of the fire-cured snus until I'd seen the nitrosamine counts from it.

Though with only a thousand tins around, I doubt it'll impact you too much.

Edit - oh, you're talking about Skruf, not the Onyx. Hmm, good question!

I'm not sure that guys knows what he's talking about. I know that Skruf has always advertised as having even lower TSNA levels than SM, so I highly doubt that they ferment and flame cure the snus. The language on that page seems either translated or written by someone with only a rudimentary grasp of english. I suspect a confusion of grammar has caused the mixup.

As for the General Carbone, I'm not sure that's not a hoax either. SM certainly hasn't had any press releases and November is getting close to being over.

The tin in the photo looks like it's made with carbon fibre. At my usual material and component supplier, a 0.8mm thick (~1/32") sheet of carbon fibre which is 300mm square (~1' sq.ft) costs about £38, or US$57. That's really a bit steep for a snus tin which is going into the bin and, really, which doesn't need carbon fibre at ALL. Considering the heap of new General brands that have just come out as well...it seems a stretch.

In fact, this looks more like a student website - the type where they make up a template and fill it with random information just to practice or for a school assignment, etc. "Copyright, your company, etc.." at the bottom.

edit : mind you, it says it's owned by MakeWeBo, Lidköping, who, I think, are the company who do drop shipping for Northerner. This is all really confusing. I still think it's misinformation, though...

Zero you make a good point about the poor English. I was just being cautious. Thanks for your input, I'll go on skrufin.

buysnus.com emailed me this morning, I evidently am receiving a General Onyx Carbone can. Wow. What do you do with a numbered can of snus? do you use it? do you freeze it for posterity?

I am tempted to keep it as a collector's piece. At the same time, I am tempted to taste it and see if the snus itself is anything different than regular onyx :?:

ROFL! That will never happen! I can honestly say that if V2 stopped making snus, I'd probably be a chain-smoker again immediately.

Hope it tastes better than the original Onyx. To herby for me. Like eating a piece of chicken covered in herbs. Plus I don't like the white or in this case black portions.
