Numb gums?

I have been using snus for a few weeks now. Usally just Triumph. I had one can of General from a friend but it didn't last long. Fixing to order my 1st big order sometime next week I hope. Anyway I have almost started my girlfriend on snus but she keeps complaining about it numbing her gums I was wondering if there what anything she could do help stop it from doing that? I think it would be sweet if I could get her to stop smoking and just do snus with me. So any help or ideas is welcomed.

We would probably be able to answer your question better if we knew which snus she's been using. In general, I've never experienced any numbing of the gums. It could be from the nicotine or, the salt content or, with Triumph Mint, could be the Mint.

I just tried my first portion of Triumph Mint and, did have a bit of a burning sensation, in a good way! Salt can wrinkle the membranes of the inner lip and, possibly make them seem numb. This wears off after a few weeks though, once your mouth gets accustom to the high salt content in the snus. She could wet it a bit with her drink of choice or, move it around in her mouth to "wash" some of the salt off the portion. Just my advice, hope this helps!!

She has been trying Triumph. I will tell her to try drinking something with it next time she trys it. Thanks for the welcome.

I agree with Airwoodstock, if the snus is heavy on the mint it might numb the gums. I have never had a snus numb mine. Is the Triumph really heavy on the mint? I have had some tingles with the OR mint los before. This is why I believe it might be the mint flavoring. If you want to get the GF hooked on a non-numbing snus, try a flavored one like Got Rape #2 or Skruf Cran or even OR cran. Those should please her. As I have said numerous times before, if you use OR cran warm it up before using. It tastes like a nice mild chocolate cran.

I've been snusing for over a year and I still get numb gums. Mostly just from los, though general extra sterk gives me a slight numb feeling. Not sure if it is the salt, nicotine, or some other factor doing it. I never use mint flavored snus so can't really comment. Personally I like the numbing. I would tell her to maybe try some other snus and see if it happens or to just grin and bear it for a few weeks to see if it goes away.
