I got both brands in the los and the portions. I disliked the Gotlands portions and los. I wasn't thrilled with the V-2 los. I'm not a los guy anyway so I didn't think I would like it. Loved the V-2 Julesnus portions.

These Gotlands portions and los are already on the snus exchange, as is the V-2 los.........

I'm keeping the V-2 portions, glad I got 2 tins
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I've posted elsewhere that I didn't really care for the V2 portions at all. I've decided to stick with it and keep using it and I have to say that it does get better. The initial taste when it first goes in is really weird. It's not unpleasant but I don't like it. If you ignore that for about 15 minutes, it gets sweeter and after some time you don't notice that first flavor anymore. I'm starting to enjoy it a lot more now.

I still would like to try the Gotlands version though, just for the sake of comparison. If anyone else has tried both please do post about them.

I love the v2 portions. This is the first time I have enjoyed a portion more than it's los counterpart. The los is still very good, but something about the portion flavor that just works!.

As for the gotlands version, I have yet to place my next order. When I do i'll get a can. It will most likely wind up as PP's did.

I'll have to give a full comparison tomorrow. I have a firm grip on Gotland's flavor, but I had lasagna right before I tried V2's, so my mouth was kind of polluted.

Gotland's flavor is more subtle, with more spice flavor than wine. It also has the trademark Gotland bitterness that comes through after 20 minutes or so. It smells good in the tin, like a lightly scented spicy dough. The V2 otoh smelled a little funky. Not bad, kind of like a empty glass of lambic that got left out over night. That could be good or bad depending on your perspective. The mouth feel of the Gotland is better than V2. The V2 Jule packed up hard as rock in my IceTool, and it was somewhat uncomfortable in my lip, while the Gotland felt smooth, despite the relatively heavy cut.

I need to spend more time with the V2 snus, but my initial impression is that they did an excellent job with the Jule snus, and along with the licorice may be the best products they make. Keep in mind that these are both the lös varieties, and I can't in good conscience recommend V2 portions. They may be ok, but I'll never know due to being burned too many times with their portion snus.

Portions only for me but I'll go with what lxskllr said, (and Xobe also). The V2's surprisingly not bad... even good. Gotlands, well... I'm not really lovin' 'em. (edit): But they're getting better for me... so I guess it's good to be open-minded with a new snus.

At this point, I should know better. ops:

I really like the V2 version. HATE the smell, like the taste. Every female in my house, all 3, hate the smell too. Still waiting on the Gotlands.

                    V2 Jule snus continued...

I used this a bit today, and I still have a good impression of it. The wine taste is much stronger in V2's offering, and the flavor that starts reminds me a bit of Spree candy. I hold to my impression of the mouth feel with it being hard, and a touch painful until it's been in awhile.

My final analysis is that Gotland Jule is a more refined product. The flavors are subtle, and better blended. V2's Jule has a more immediate flavor hit, but it isn't as complex. I would recommend people try both to see which they like better. As for me, next year I plan on doing the same thing as this year. A roll of Gotland Jule, and a tin of V2 Jule.

                      Oh wow.

                      I like both brands.

V2 loose julesnus is rough grind.. It gets soft after a while in the lip, and the flavor is worth the initial discomfort.

The V2 portions are good, but they dried out on me real fast in the can. I dig the flavor when I have one in.

Gotland loose julesnus is really nice texture, but so muted in flavor. I keep poking the crap out of it. It's leaving me a bit frustrated. The flavor that is there is fantastic.

Gotland portion julesnus is... well.... bland. It smells good, where's the flavor? I for one don't really dig the "bitter" tingle I get in the back of my throat from their snus.

I think I prefer the Nordstrommen, but I'm not sure if I'd get either again. I prefer they gotlands grey to their julesnus.

Finished off my tin of the V2 portions this morning. Really enjoyed the tin but probably won't pick up another. I'll try the V2 loose though. But I got my order in today with a tin of the gotlands and I just love it. Hard as balls to bake it though but whatever.

I don't know why people say Gotlands is hard to bake, the only snus I've really had trouble baking is LD. I found the V2 Julesnus tough at first but learned that you just need to be more heavy handed with it.

I think Gotlands products are up in the snus afficianado range.

It just has flavors that no other snus ive ever tried has. It really cant be comapred to any products out there and the flavor profile is earthy and light in flavor.

Now the Julesnus for me is probably my favorite Gotlands product ive had so far.

I can definately taste Ginger, Nutmeg and that overall slight bitterness that all Gotlands products have.

The flavor of Julesnus lasts longer than any of their regular products and is still going for me. Ive had it in over 2 hours and is still producing flavor.

Im glad I was able to get this this year and will definately make plans on stocking up before its out.

                              Great product Gotland.

Waited impatiently for 8 months to sample this Gotlands Xmas Snus.
Gotlands overall is my favorite Snus maker. Grey and Ice Mint are favorites.

So, I opened the can and took a little wiff and it smelled exactly like the Scandinavian Gift store Ingebretsen's we have in Minneapolis. This store is pretty much a butcher shop with things like fish paste, pickled herring, Swedish meatballs, jams and candies.

After popping one in I am still getting hints of fish/herring or somekind of spice that goes with that. For some reason I was expecting more of a cinnamon/clove/sweet wine flavor.

                                thumbs down.
