    Revisiting Offroad

OK. I've tried Offroad Coffee Vanilla portions, and made it through about 4 of them. Haven't been back since.

I'm running low so it's time for a new order(proctoring the ACT exam is a nice little side gig for snus cash!). I'll be grabbing some Gotlands Julesnus from whichever of the Swedish distributors will ship it cheapest, and some of this and some of that from GetSnus.

Thing is, while I'm mostly an Ettan/Rape'/Gotlands kinda guy, I like a bit of variety now and then and I'm running out of lös brands to try on the premium side. So, I'm gonna bite the bullet and try a few of the Offroad lös flavors, since I've heard more positive opinions about them over the portions. Just for shits and giggles, you know.

Yes, Xobe, Phantom Blue will be one of them.

I know it all ultimately comes down to personal taste, but I'm looking for opinions(Positive or otherwise)from anyone who has tried the following Offroad flavors I'm thinking of trying:

    Cranberry
    Icemint
    Licorice
    American Wintergreen

I at first thought the Offroad American Wintergreen flavors were quite too much for me to handle when I first tried it, and I got both los and longcut in my random order! But over time I came to like it a lot, and it is a nice strong flavor once in a while. It taste sort of like a gum flavor, but you may like it. Hope you find one that works for you, but try to give flavors a chance. At first I don't like certain things then over time people see me eating stuff that taste terrible to them.

I like the licorice lös a good bit, and as you know, I'm not the greatest V2 fan. My biggest complaint with it is the mouth feel, but it has a good pure licorice flavor, and it's a nice change up from Gotland Grå.

Have you had LD Red? I just picked up a roll, and it's tastier than I remembered. I got it to break up my use of Gotland Gul. I wanted something to use between tins to keep the Gotland special(absence makes the heart grow fonder, or something like that)

Haven't tried the others, but the Wintergreen and Licorice are superb.

Well, I've never liked anything from Offroad. They've all made me feel nauseous in the same way as people who douse themselves in cheap cologne or perfume in the morning. It feels as much like snus as a hipflask of store-brand scope feels like whiskey.

I bought some offroad stuff because it made sense to me- it was cheap, I was cheap, and it has alot of "american" flavors I'm used to with dip.

It is really not comparable. These apple flavored portions are terrible. I'm working through them in pain(a little melodramatic) and waiting for my next order of Ettan(heard its a sweet tobacco similar to red man chew, that would be fantastic)

anyway, even for the american dip consumer, which seems to be who they're vaguely appealing to, this offroad stuff isn't really appealing. like any brand, I'm sure theres an acceptable variety- and I'm still interested in finding it for when I'm on a serious budget.

Licorice does sound like it would work with offroads natural flavor profile...

Offroad Cranberry is pretty good, I liked it a lot. I cant speak for the others as I have only had Cranberry and Blue. I must say the los versions are far better than the protions. I liked both the Blue and Cranberry BTW, just stick to Los and skip portions.

Ettan is definitely not sweet. It's smoky and salty and earthy. The only snus from SM that I would really call 'sweet' is Probe Whiskey - if you want a touch of sweetness I would highly recommend it.

too late! the order has been made.

but anyhow, that's fine if it's not sweet, I just wanted a more direct tobacco flavor instead of these attempts at sweet flavors.

I was thinking about this today... offroad apple smells and tastes like tootsie rolls, which I hate. then they get sour after a little while. awful, and its my only snus at the moment.

If that's what you're looking for, I think you'll be pleased with Ettan, especially if you're getting it in lös. The portions just don't do it justice.

For the plain style, don't forget to try Grov too.

Hey guys, long time since I posted anything so hello again

A friend of mine came down from Norway to Poland a couple weeks ago and picked up some snus for me, I didn't ask him to he just was being friendly. He saw this "new brand" and got me 5 tins. It was Offroad Portion...

This is the worst shit I have ever tried, like Zero said its barely snus. I see a lot of people on here enjoy the brand, maybe the other flavours are alright, but this stuff was so terrible it was ridiculous. It tastes like old fake leather boots ground up with air freshener. My roommate, who doesn't normally snus, tried it just for fun and dubbed it "spam snus" which was the best title I could find for it.

Tell me guys are the other flavours that different from the original portion?

Grov was one of those odd ones for me. I love Grov portions, use them almost daily, but for some reason Grov lös just leaves me cold. That's the only snus I've tried where I actually preferred portions over lös...

Started by Marc and Patrick Vogel, V2 Tobacco began manufacturing Swedish snus in Silkeborg, Denmark in 2006, to the same exacting standards that snus manufactured in Sweden is.
