I got a can of this with my latest Northerner order to see what it was like and because I like strong mint flavours (but have yet to find a good strong minty snus) - I've toyed with the Jakobssons nic free ice fruit to cut down on no. of portions consumed, but it never really got going because the ice-fruit flavour is one I only visit now and then.
A short review
Well, the can is the same as the Elixyr ones, but with a green label which says ENERGY! on it. Ashtray lid and black apart from that. Inside, the portions look very weird indeed because they are original portion material, but without the tobacco, there is absolutely nothing brown there at all, if you peer inside the portions you can see the beige/light-brown colour of the dried apple and vegetable fibres used to replace the tobacco.
Taste? Minty, very good strong peppermint oil flavour - blows your socks off, less salty than a regular portion, but still some salt. If there is some residual taste from the apple and whatever else they use inside then the mint totally destroys it. This is not subtle - it's very minty! The feel under the lip is really good, along with the mint burn it feels just like a real snus, unlike the Jakobssons nic free which is a bit rubbery.
But what about the name? Energy? These are the same people who make Elixyr power energy snus which has taurine and caffeine added to the tobacco to give you a lift. I was hoping that this one would be the same but without the tobacco, but no, what a suprise - this is a snus for the clean living Swede who wants to get their Energy from a total detox it would seem.
I really like it as a flavour and a snus pouch, I might try the Elixyr pepparmint based on this flavouring as I think this is what I thought that Catch Eucalyptus should taste like. But it is a purely nic free thing to enjoy the flavour and mintiness. I'm unlikely to get it again.
Did I mention it was VERY MINTY?
