Hi all, thanks for the welcome. I tried snus when I visited Norway in 2005 and was using it for a while to smoke less but didn't really appreciate it other than the nic kick. Then I tested some of the camel snus when I was home a few months ago and was using it when I had bronchitis. Got sick of the sweet camel snus fairly quickly and moved to the real stuff. Snusing Swedish match brands so far. Big fan of Ettan, Grov, and General. Still getting used to the snus burps with original portions, white portions are usually fine. I still smoke but have been smoking less with snus. Down from 10-15 cigs/day to 5-7. I'd like to try lös but don't have the tools for it. I guess everyone here endorses the icetool...

On a different note, is there a better way to search the forum? It's hard to find discussions you just stumbled upon a while back. I remember there was a discussion about creating a centralized ratings forum rather than loose (or lös) threads, which would be real useful for topics such as this but also for those who want to try new/different snus. Something like an ongoing poll? I'm sure if we have a few hundred ratings for each snus it would be a great resource and give a general overview. I'd be happy to help but am not sure how to do this...

Yeah, not sure why I haven't been around much. I mean I am still snusing like amd so....

Life, work, I'm a moderator now on my bike board (and have over 4700 posts there, joined them within days of joining here.

But I did miss y'all, so I suspect I should be around a lot more. I am pushing my collection down to the bare minimum. I have fewer snus in my freezer than I have had at any time in the past 10 months. So next order will be a big one, gotta start thinking now what I want.

re: general onyx vs. general sterk

Just tried Gen. sterk, which came with my last order. I was a bit sick with GI issues recently and couldn't snus for a while, but snused happily last night while watching a Norwegian film called Pathfinder (1988) in the Saami language. Felt appropriate to snus the Norwegian edition of the sterk (white portion). Had a good strong taste, not too complex. I still like the Onyx but can also appreciate the sterk. For now I'll give onyx a 5/5 and the sterk 4/5.

Never tried Onyx but Sterk is damn good. I will be buying a roll of the General Sterk very soon.

General Onyx for me! I tried Onyx recently, with a two years delay so to say, and it's better in every regard than General Sterk (except for the price).

Besides of that, I think that General Extra Sterk is the best brand in the General-line, of which I'm not really a fan.

              Cheers!
