    Romeo & Julieta

    Greetings from the Pacific Northwest,
Has anyone tried this? What's your opinion?
    Thanx,

Hey, welcome to the site. I believe there's a thread on this board about R y J already. You can use the search function to find it.

My bad. I guess that was on the old, discontinued buysnus forum. When you do the search string (I searched romeo), some other discussions will come up that mention it, though. I have never tried R y J, and now that northerner is charging crazy shipping/tax, it's not likely I will anytime soon. I seem to recall some comments that it had a rather stiff portion pouch material, but that the taste was quite nice with coffee and/or whiskey.

Too bad about Northerner. I really want to try Gellivare and buysnus doesn't sell it. It seems you have to buy quite a large amount to make it worth your while any more with them. I'd rather buy rolls with buysnus and then get the 1/2 price roll!

I liked it a lot. Very smooth tea like taste. I'm more of a loose snusser though. I don't think I would get a can again. I usually like to try the portions once.

You could try snusbutiken.com as I seem to remember having seen Gellivare on offer there. I could be wrong though.
Or you could try one of the handful of other smallish snus websites.

            Craig,
Thanks for the recommendation. I checked all of them and none stock (or none show that they stock) Gellivare. Too bad. Oh well, I can be patient. I won't be running low any time very soon! Thanks anyhow.

I was a bit disappointed when I first tried it. I'm a fan of Romeo y Julieta cigars and was expecting more full aroma. But soon I started really enjoying them, very nice flavour and it feels somehow soft under my lip. It's definitely worth trying.

I just order some 'Romeo y Julieta' and 'Montecristo' portions. The descriptions on northerner for both of them are pretty similar. Is there much difference between them?

Phish - I also ordered Monticresto, and R&J at first. I found I perfer the R&J.
                  I also like Probe Wiskey.

I just got my cans of 'r y j' and man they smell pretty strong but not in a bad way. Before I even opened the parcel I could smell the distinct aroma of aniseed.

They taste a lot less strong then they smell. It is a very subtle light tobacco flavor with a hint of aniseed. The portions are also quiet dry and don't seem to run as much as some.

it feels somehow soft under my lip
This is true each portion feel soft and elegant. The packaging is also very nice, it comes in a metal can but it is coated with a soft plastic like the kind you get on the bottom of mouse mats to stop them slipping. The lid is extremely tight compared to other portions, hopefully this will keep them a bit fresher. The plastic seems to act as a air tight seal.

Over all I like them but I have only just started using portions so I don't have all that much to compare them to.
