    Ettan Loose review

I just opened up my first can of Ettan los and baked a good size snus ball. The only other loose brands I have tried are Skruf Stark Los and Gotlandssnus Juelsnus. Let me tell you, Ettan loose is far superior to those (in my honest opinion). The tobacco is extremely easy to bake and the flavor has a perfect tobacco flavor that is extremely mellow which compliments my favorite beverage... beer! I have little experience with loose snus; I have a can of Roda Lacket and Gotland Anise that I've yet to try. I definitely plan on buying plenty more of Ettan loose though!

Do any of you los veterans have any recommendations that are similar to Ettan? Is Grovsnus similar? As well, Gotlandssnus Julesnus was extremely hard to bake; are all the other Gotlandsnus brands hard to bake as well?

    Thanks!

Grov is kinda close, i prefer grov to ettan. I find Gotlandsnus quite easy to bake a pris (have not tried the gotlands Julesnus tho).

If you like Ettan lös, I think General lös is pretty close. From Swedish Match, I like Röda Lacket lös and Göteborgs Prima Fint lös also. The SM brochure says that if you like the "format" of Ettan, you should like Grovsnus, General lös, Göteborgs Rape, Nick & Johnny and General Silver. I do not know what this means. They say if you like the flavor, try Tre Ankare, and Grovsnus. That is what they say. Not sure what it is worth.

Personally, I love Gotlandssnus. Both. Skruf Stark lös is good too.

I will definitely throw in a can of Grov loose in my next order. The Gotlands Julesnus is very fine cut and I have to use my Prismaster to portion it; even after that, the snus seems to melt all over my mouth!

I also plan on trying General loose, since I love the flavor of the brand. I wish Nick and Johnny still made los, since I heard it tastes far superior to its portioned counterpart (hint hint Swedish Match).

Anyways, I would like to tell you about my opinions of loose snus. The flavor is way better than portions, since the tobacco juice seems to create a strong odor/taste that is not present in loose snus. However, loose snus is less convenient because you have to bake it and the removal is quite difficult (unless you have a some water on hand). I plan on using loose for home and partying and portions for work and school.

Try the Roda Lacket Los i found it to be good for baking and its taste was mellow, and the tobacco flavor was superb very similar to Ettan Los IMHO though i like RL just a bit more but everyone has their own taste.

Ettan los is my favorite Swedish Match los, closely followed by General. Doesn't give you mud-mouth after an hour like RL or Prima. Stays in place like it should and is nice and tasty, doesn't have the dill pickle elements of Grov.

Ettan los is definitely on of my favs. But I don't think Roda Lacket or the Prima Fint taste anything like it. General is most comperable IMO.

I haven't tried to los, but ettan didn't impress me that much. It was just a little bland imo. I didn't dislike it though, so perhaps I will grow to love it. We will see.

I seem to be a freak of nature in that I've never had a problem baking Gotlands.

Grov is pretty good too, but Ettan is in a league of its own IMO. For pure tobacco taste nothing comes close.

Ettan is my favorite los yet. Still have a few more to test. I like Gustavus almost as much, but Ettan was my first, so it will always have a special place in my fridge.

Any chance of Ettan ever coming out with a los extra sterk version?

As a long time Copenhangen user, I am naturally drawn to the flavor of Ettan and do enjoy it, but the nicotine "hit" is almost non-existent for the latter.

I have no problem baking Gotlands either, whilst Prima and Rape may be slightly easier to bake they certainly don't hold their shape as well as a coarse ground snus.

I find the Gotlands almost as bad as those for keeping its shape as it's quite wet. But it has been a while since I've tried either of them.
