...is it weird that I only really like Triumph so far?

I didn't really like the Sweedish ones I tried. Too strong.

But I like Triumph a lot. And I'm angry the price went up :O

Ok, what is Triumph? I have not seen it on any snus websites, but from what I am reading, it seems like it is not Swedish. Is it American? Is it available everywhere?

It's sold in select markets in the USA. It's made by Swedish Match(for Lorillard I believe), but to perceived American tastes. It's sweet, but not as sweet as Camel. It isn't bad, but it's not what I look for in snus.

Yes, it's weird. Okay it's not really weird, since everyone's taste is different. Let us know which swedish ones you've tried and maybe we can help point you to something better.

If you like sweet, Roda Lacket is excellent. And if you can still get hold of it, the Gotlands Julesnus is divine.

I just tried some Roda for the first time yesterday and I would not say that it is that sweet. Yes it does have a little sweet to it but not much. At first it kind of reminded me of the dreaded Catch Licorice....lots of salt. But half way through the can it has grown on me a bit. Now Claq Qui, that is another story. It is awesome. But my point is if you are looking for a sweet American style Swedish snus Roda in my opinion is not it.

No, it's not like American snus. None of them are just like American snus because American snus is not real Swedish snus. Real snus is always salty.

I think roda has sort of a salty sweetish flavor, sort of like a trail mix would. And if you are looking for something REALLY sweet, both Julesnus' would fit the bill, and so would some of the Offroad snus. But they are all still salty. If you truly want to use snus, you'll get used to it. It was odd for a lot of us at first.

I am a triumph fan myself,

to be honest, there is no swedish snus you can recommend that taste like Triumph at all. Not even Roda, which tastes nothing like triumph to me.

Triumph has a sweet, almost chewing tobacco taste, while the Mint version is almost like chewing gum but not overbearing with a nice tobacco flavor.

Triumph mint is the ONLY, and i mean ONLY, mint flavored tobacco I have ever liked, even when i dipped.

People on the snus exchange will gladly help you out for those looking for some.

It is Swedish Snus made by Swedish Match, just for an assumed American palette.

BUt when trying to compare it to actual swedish snus in sweden, you really can not.

The only Triumph I use is Mint.

But I have tried these two thus far:

Jakkobsons Ice-Fruit (I used it for a bit, and decided I didn't like it)
Gotesborg Rape White Portion (Hated it after the first one. Tasted like a flower)

I'm thinking of trying a pomegranite mini one I saw. I don't care about the size, as I'm in this more for the taste than the nicotine.

I am brand new to snus, but a long time American moist snuff/dip user, so take my input in that context please. Even unflavored American moist snuff, such as straight, are much sweeter than Swedish snus. It only took me a few cans to adjust though. Personally, I found Offroad American Wintergreen to be nasty, the wintergreen flavor leaves quickly and all you are left with is bitter. While no snus I have tried is in the same family as sweet American dip, General Wintergreen portions and Gotlands Julesnus would probably be the closest.

@ firemarth... No apologies necessary. Triumph is real Swedish snus, and it's excellent. Personally, I don't care for the mint, but the original is great. Peach flavored. Some may consider it a dessert snus and think it to be overly sweet but, so what. Enjoy what you like. And fwiw, real snus doesn't have to be salty. If you keep experimenting, you'll eventually find some of the more traditional brands to be to your liking, and as a good alternative to the sweet. A very lightly salted and easy to take, natural tobacco snus is Tre Ankare. I'd sooner recommend an unflavored natural snus like that, before any of the other 'flavored', 'sweet' snus's like Roda & Probe, Ice Fruit, and Goteborg Rape, etc.

I am addicted to Triumph, but usually have no more than one a day. A few folks here keep me supplied.

Give it time and i suspect you will soon love the more traditional stuff to. If I have learned anything about snus these past two years, your tastes will change frequently.

If you haven't tried it, give LD Black a try if you like licorice. It is one of the least saltiest Swedish snus I know.
