Get an Icetool!!! You know you want to

No seriously, it is the best investment you can make if you enjoy lös.

I've been hand baking a lot more lately, but I tend to reach for the Icetool 95% of the time.

Try the hillbilly method. I find that sometimes the snus actually holds together better than with baking.....and the flavour you get from it is awesome...

I use loose all of the time, except for right before bed, in the middle of the night, or at meetings. Another plus to loose is that for the same price you get more snus.

I refuse to use portions. They taste like shit, a bag feels funny in my lip, and they get even worse if they start to dry out. What's the point? My lös always tastes great.
Plus once you've been using it for a while it stops being messy, and you can spit it out clean (most of the time).
Icetools are over-rated. When I bake a snus, Gotlands or otherwise, I shape it like a teardrop so that it fits perfectly in my lip, and doesn't get messy. I'd like to see an icetool do that. All it gives you is a compressed tube of tobacco. (compression doesn't allow for your spit to interact with the snus properly so it leaves you short on flavour.)

If you want a real kick in the head take your lös blonde. The nicotine rush in incomparable and it tastes amazing. (it's the only way to use General )

The Gotlands problem I am having is that it does not stick together at all. It does seem extremely fresh if that matters (expires 3 months from now). Anyone experience this?
I tend to always use my Icetool for Gotlands as I find it difficult to bake. I think its only holnrew that can bake Gotlands like a pro....
          And jamestew!

LD is the difficult one for me, it doesn't even hold together too well with a prismaster, needs saliva before it holds. It's worth it for the flavour and low low price though.

FWIW I poke and lick my pris a hell of a lot and can keep it in there for a decent amount of time.

Gotlands IS a difficult one....it just doesn't stick together like the other ones do. Honestly though, I've found that the prismaster doesn't really help me much, either. It's still doable, though; I just don't leave the pris in as long as I do other brands.

Wow great info thanks! I used los only all day. I love it. Even have the Gotlands in right now. I think I will try the hillbilly method soon.

Wow, looking on getsnus.com, there is a huge price difference between Icetool and a Prismaster. What exactly is the difference?

The prismaster is a cheap, plastic tool that makes the portion into not quite a cylinder (more ovalish). They wear out after a while and don't make quite as nice of pris as an icetool will.

An icetool is high quality, stainless steel, lasts a very long time and has an O-ring type gasket (which might wear out eventually but you can replace them). The pris are perfect cylinders and even have notches on them so that you can measure exactly how big you want your portion and get it exact.

An icetool "might" be worth the extra money if you want something that you won't have to replace, looks nicer, and makes better portions more easily. The prismaster will do IMHO, and as long as you wash it out and use some vegetable oil to lube it once in a while, it should last for a while, and when it's useless, but another!

To be perfectly honest, I prefer handbaking to either, but it's much more convenient to use a tool for it and you don't have to worry about getting messy hands.

Thanks for the reply! Honestly, though, I think I am starting to get the hang of hand-baking. I don't so much form cylinders as I have heard others talk about, but I more form "tablets". Maybe that comes from starting my snusing with portions (which I still very much enjoy). I am not really getting flecks breaking off while I have the pris in anymore, and it is coming out much cleaner. I still have to wash my mouth out, but it is getting better

However, my GF still very much likes me using the portions more :?
