    Triumph...opinions and suggestions

The only snus ive used so far is Triumph..regular and mint
I enjoy both of them but mint is preferable.
Has anybody else tried this and does anybody have any suggestions for some good snus

Let me put it this way, I drive an hour or two out of my way to get some Triumph every once in a while!

I keep regular and mint on hand at all times. I tend to alternate snus's throughout the day but I love them both.

Other than those, I like Pall Mall whites, Lucky Strike regular and whites, my current fav though is Goteborgs Rape #2.

If you have not ordered any from Sweden, I would start off with a portion sampler. It will give you a good idea about what you like and don't like, but....

If at first you don't like a portion, try it again later. You will be surprised. You get used to how salty they are and then you start to really get the flavors.

    BTW, welcome to the boards!

      texasmade, first, welcome to snuson

triumph is simply completely unlike any Swedish snus in that it is far sweeter than traditional Swedish snus. Although Triumph is made in Sweden, it was made for what is understood to be American tastes.

But so what. Try a sampler, and see what you think of more traditional Swedish snus. Even though it isn't as sweet, you may love it.

I have been addicted to triumph since shortly after they were released and someone in GA sent me some. I have one each night before bed. I love the sweetness, but couldn't handle that kind of sweet all day.

Try some of the traditional stuff and let us know what you think.

        thanks for the welcomes.
I've order General Dry Mini Mint and Jakobsson's Ice Fruit the other day
just waiting for them to get here.
I like Triumph..I just need something different than these two..hopefully I enjoy my order

Triumph is definitely the best "American" snus, but Swedish snus is worlds better. As well, Triumph only has 5mg of nicotine per pouch, while regular Swedish snus has 8mg per pouch. I would advise trying out a sampler. If you want something that is mellow, go for a few cans of Ettan White or Original. The flavor is too bland for me, but it's great for a beginner, since there is hardly any salt.

If you want something similar to Triumph Original, get a can of Roda Lacket White. The flavor is somewhat similar except it's not overly sweet.

          Good luck.

You would love Roda Lacket, since it has a very subtle sweet flavor. Anyway, I would recommend this sampler:

Is Triumph the same brand as the speedway brand Tourney? Thought it was the same thing, just labeled differently for different regions of the US? Never looked into it myself.

Anywho, if you prefer the mint, I would suggest you try a can of Catch Eucalyptus/Menthol. It has a nice, sharp menthol, kinda minty taste when you first put it in that slides into a more subtle mint with a ting of salty flavor (like most swedish snus) after about 10-15 minutes or so.

They're different snus'. Triumph is made by Swedish Match, and Tourney is made by Snus AB(I think that's the company's name). I've never had Tourney, but I have had Roots which is made by the same company. Terrible snus... It's the cheapest of the cheap, and really has nothing going for it. You'd think the American companies would get a enthusiast on staff to help with sourcing and selection. Snus that tastes like shit in Sweden isn't going to improve on the journey over here :^/

If you disliked Roots you'll hate Tourney. It's a very dry and stale tasting version of Roots.

I've never had Roots before... it sounds terrible, that's why it's not around anymore. Tourney is the worst snus ever. I have no idea who would even remotely like the taste of it. The nasty metallic flavor repulsed me so much that I never kept one in for more than two minutes.
