    Thunder Snus portion review

Well it's not so much of a review with this one as a summing up. People were giving it a bit more kudos than the average V2 product, saying it wasn't a budget snus and that it was very subtle for something with 16mg of nicotine in it.

I have to say that although it is quite expensive for a V2 snus - it tastes like it should be budget! The flavour has hints of Elixyr Power Energy (those that have tried it will know that isn't a compliment) - there is quite considerable throat burn with this snus too. The worst thing about it is those awful bags that V2 insist on putting their portions in - all scratchy and hard and refusing to let the taste through properly.

Strong snus - definitely. But rubbish in my opinion.

I will give it another chance when they release the los form of this - I have had a pris of the Tobacco Top flavour of the Nordstrommen los pack - and I think this is really heartening. V2 can obviously make good snus - unless they put them in those horrible portions.

I am glad I took this out of my cart this morning.

The Tobacco Top sound interesting though. Let us know what you think of the other limited flavours?

      Hi KarlvB,

Well I've only tried the Tobacco top and the Chocolate Raspberry so far and it's been a really nice surprise!

Although the chocolate raspberry is as over-the-top in flavour as most of V2's offerings it's nice enough - and I can't wait to try the Vanilla. The tobacco top flavour is a real surprise from V2 because it's really subtle indeed - and quite unlike anything else they make - it's a bit like a sweeter Gellivare!

I'm sure the other flavours will be the sort that I would struggle to use whole cans of because they are too artificial for my tastebuds - but it's nice that they were released as a limited edition really

The over-the-top flavouring is precisely why I have been hesitant to try the V2 products in the past. I had hoped the flavours would be toned down for the limited release, and if they prove to be more subtle across the board I would consider ordering a roll.

Until then though only the tobacco top sounds like it would appeal to my taste buds

Ps: Considering that we have a broadly similar top 5 list I am going to use your reviews as my benchmark. No pressure

          Interesting, very interesting.

As I have said several times, I had a chance to try them while they were in their testing phase. Those were fabulous!!

But I didn't know if V2 would screw it up between the testing phase and production phase. I promise, when I DO get mine, I will do a compare and contrast review, as I am sure Xobeloot will do the same

I find it VERY hard to swallow that they would taste even remotely close to elixyr.

As sagedil says, I'll have to post my thoughts when I get them.

I've been through a couple testing rounds and both were absolutely delightful. As a person who actually uses elixyr willingly, I can say that the tester cans tasted like none other than premium snus.

Unfortunately, my roll that I ordered gets shipped to work, so even if it comes tomorrow, I won't see it until Monday

Maybe the ones from V2 direct will show up at my apartment today or tomorrow.

Yeah, I found that part about tasting a bit like Elyxr hard to swallow. I mean, I doubt anyone on this board has used Elyxr as consistently, or for as long as I have used it. I know well what it tastes like and what I had when i was sampling the test versions was NOTHING like it. Period.

Of course, as I have said over and over, we don't know the decisions that V2 made when they moved it from test to production, what short cuts they took to save money, etc.

But Xobeloot, from my memory, the bags they used were not scratchy, or anything like what they typically use. Am I remembering that right??

gotta get me some of my own so I can speak more knowledgeably about what is and compare it to my memory of what i tried before.

The bags seemed pretty close to the usual, maybe a bit softer. The tobacco inside is what made the major difference in lip feel.

But you know me. I'm the last person in the world to evaluate how a portion feels. I hate the blasted things. I only use portions when I cant get flavor "X" in los form.

Thunder I will most likely buy in los and portion continuously, but I will use a lot more los than portion.

How big are the portions? Are they regular size? Are they Maxi?

I know General bumped up their nic stats for Extra Sterk by making their portions a **** hair bigger and putting less actual portions in the can.

Just curious, don't really care either way. Especially if it tastes as good and has a steady "ride" like you guys say.

Ok, just popped in a Thunder Original a few minutes ago. This is my first time with this one. First off, I noticed the can and portions are pretty moist. I hope the freezer doesn't hurt this, as I have more than one can. First thing I noticed is it really gave me an initial nic kick. I don't search out a nic kick, but this has one. Taste is really good. And the portion material is very good. Soft portion, but strong and bold taste, no sweetness at all. This is very good.

I once swore I'd never use the cans of Thunder Original that I got as the bonus from buysnus because I thought they'd be too strong for me. Then I tried one and thought "not bad!". I'm definitely more into the flavored snus, especially Discreet, but I could handle the flavor of these with no problem.

It's all about taste - I love Thunder and have no problems with bag.

Being a V2 snus, I was suprised at how soft the Thunder portion material is. It seemed different than past Offroad portions I have had. But then also, it seemed the new cans of Offroad Original pouches had a decent portion material too.

The only thing I noticed about the Thunder, was it seemed to die down in the flavor rather soon, but still wasn't bad, and I kept it in my usual time. I have only done 1 pouch so far, so just based on the experience. I'll do another later tonight, I have a Claq Qui in and don't wanna chain starks.

Being how tastes change, I may think different later, but at this moment, Thunder OP may be my new fave snus.
