Thunder Snus - Production Version

As many of you know, I was on the tasting panel of Thunder during it's initial production stage. Here are my thoughts on the Final version:

The can: V2 has designed a completely new can that is sturdier than their other cans and includes a double lid for spent portions. Top notch!

The portions: Original portion, 1g per pouch. Feel no different under my lip than any other portion. The pouches are packed nice and tight without a ton of excess material getting in the way of my snus.

Strength: These things are STRONG! Remember that slight burn you used to get under your lip when you first started using snus? Well, you are about to revisit it with these portions. The nicotine content gives a nice warm heat under your lip when you first put the portion in, but goes away in quick succession.

This snus has a very strong nicotine content @ 16mg/g, however it is just as I have described it in other posts. It does not smack you in the face leaving you feeling shaky or sweaty, but rather ramps up smoothly and stays like that for quite a long time from just one portion.

Taste: The taste is just as I remember it from the testing stage. A rich, premium tobacco flavor with a smooth bergamot finish. This is as traditional as snus gets. The flavor also lasts a good long time.


I will be using a LOT of this snus!

So my old friend, which one did they choose. I still vaguely remember the numbering system you used when you sent me the test snus.

I'm grateful to know this IS what I was hoping for.

Any idea when the loose varieties will be released? I'm personally not interested in another strong portion.

Loose is scheduled for release sometime early to mid Feb.

Sagedil: I put 2 cans in the mail to you today to hold you over until Buysnus gets their back-orders out the door. As far as comparing it to the testers, I'd say it is somewhat of a mix between 1,2 & 2,2.

Not overly wet, nor overly salty (though my vote during the test stage went towards being overly wet and overly salty).

I truly cannot compare this snus to any other I have tasted. It is a very traditional flavor, but it is unlike any other taste already on the market. It has a warm under-lip feel with a subtle bergamot, and a rich mildly salty tobacco that gives off hints of what resembles a roasted nuttiness.

I'd be interested in trying it, but I don't want a stark snus. I find V2's snus to be on the strong side anyway, and doubling the nicotine is way too much.

lxskllr, the one thing I will say is this is simply not like any strong snus I ever had before. I have mentioned earlier, I didn't even know it was strong until Xobeloot told me. All I knew was I seemed to go way longer between snus when using it. But it was REALLY gentle.

Maybe worth trying it just for the hell of it. you can always send me the unused if you don't like it. :wink:

I'll probably get the lös on my next order, although I don't know when that'll be. I have a ton of snus stocked, and my discretionary income has become 0.

I took the plunge and just ordered a few cans. I was on the fence until I read Xobe's eloquent flavor description...now I at least know if I'm not too fond of it that there will be people I can trade it to...

After 2 years, I think I have finally found ONE snus that I can simply call my favorite.
