    White Vs. Original Portion

    Hey All,
I was just about to place a snus order. I have always ordered white portions snus's. I was looking at some original order potions. Big question I have is what's the difference. According to the specs, it looks like the same amount of tobacco and nicotine. Is the main difference if the pouch is white or not ?

    Thanks Much

      Not quite true.

Whites are made differently than regulars, not just the color of the bag.Whites are drier, and the taste will come on a bit slower, as will the nicotine kick usually. the regulars will juice more, this is true. But after about 20 minutes, I don't find significant taste issues with some whites. i.e., retro White tastes similar to retro original to me after about 20 or 25 minutes of use.

Refrigeration issues are less with whites as well, since drying out is far less of a problem.

I switched to whites because I came to prefer the more mellow come on of flavor. i suggest, since this is all new to you, try everything to see what you prefer right now. but be prepared for your tastes to shift. Happens all the time wit snus. hat you hate today you might come to love in 6 months. And what once was a favorite snus might turn on you one day.

I've just recently had my first original portion, before that it was all whites. It's an offroad cranberry portion, and i dunno. It feels larger in my lip than the general portions, for instance.

Dunno if that is true for all regular portions, or if im just being crazy.

White vs regular has nothing to with portion size. Company A snus vs Company B snus might very well.

Sage, I believe you also told me something like the above and it was correct. I really liked loose but now I really like regular portions better. I have ordered some white portions, and who knows, after I try them, I might like white better than regular portions. I wasn't too crazy about Ettan a month ago but really like it now.....

LOL, get used to it. It just really seems to be the way of snus, at least for us Americans. The Swedes just use General and NEVER change, something like 70% of their market share.

I prefer the white portions myself. I find that they stay in place in your lip better even when I'm sucking the flavor out of it. Regular portions tend to slide down onto my teeth. Maybe that's just me, though.

Not too long ago I criticized WPs, now I'm beginning to shift towards them because of pouch material. Also I like to pinch them into a smaller size before putting them in my mouth as it seems to bring out some flavor earlier. Can't do that so well with the OPs.

I prefer white portions, but using too many one right after another tends to make my gums a little raw. Too many regulars make my throat ache.

I haven't found a white portion yet that I prefer to the regular. There are a few I get on occasion(Catch Eucalyptus, General Onyx, Metropol Pepparmint(RIP)), but that's because the flavors aren't otherwise available.

I'll second that, if its available in regular it's no contest, just hands down more flavor. Although I still order the first snus I tried, Goteborgs Rape, regularly and still love the flavor.
Got some Skruf whites on the way, hear some people like these better than originals, also a few other whites I haven,'t tried, but not really expexting anythinfg special out of them, but hey, you never know with snus, I think we all have our odd, to some anyway, tastes.
