    loose vs portion

I am a snubie. Have been on snus for a week or so now. I like it a lot.

I tried mini portion for about 1 hour then moved onto loose. I have been using loose ever since. However yesterday I took out some portion snus from the freezer they have been in the freezer since the day they were delivered.

I have used various brands flavors of portioned snus yesterday and today.

I have found them all to taste quite bitter initially and then after 15 mins or so they taste ok but not a rich as loose. Is the bitterness normal with portioned snus?

I've only had bitterness with Gotlandsnus products. The rest must be covering the inherent bitterness of the tobacco weed with flavoring.

id say the paper might be the cause for the bitterness because with los ive never had that prob(mmm phantom)

I have never found portions to be "bitter". well, except for Gotlandsnus. I AM a portion guy but have done some los. in the end, use what you like.

my definition of bitter is a slight papery taste...usually comes out after 30 or so minutes...but maybe its just me

I've detected some bitterness in a couple of the cheaper brands....Taboca comes to mind. I buy it every once in a while for variety, but it gets bitter fairly quick.

Taboca comes from the same plant as Gotland. They all share a house flavor that has bitter properties. I rather like it... It's like a well hopped IPA :^)

I also LOVE the bitterness of the gotland snus. If I had to pick one manufacturer and stick to their snus for the rest of my life, Gotland would be it.

Your talking to a guy who has compulsively chewed toilet paper for going on 15 years. Not sure what I can say.

I will second the Gotlands preference.

I think the taste i experience is the paper not the tobacco as the same brand in loose does not have any bitterness.

I had a swedish match sampler of 8 portioned brands and a box of 8 loose.

My conclusion is that out of all the portioned Etan portion is ok. The rest did not appeal to me. Yet the loose version of Etan does not appeal to me. My favourite loose from the sample box was General.

I now got a roll of thunder loose and I really like that.

My ex used to laugh her ass off at me. I so long ago got used to it, I don't even try to hide it anymore. Sage is a very unusual character.
