    Julesnus compared

I am only two months into snus at this point, so please take my opinions in that context. Looking for something similar to American dip, I tried both Julesnus offerings: Gotlandsnus and Nordstrommen (umlauts omitted because I am too lazy to find the keystroke combination). After a can of each I have a clear preference and I know which one I am ordering next year.

Gotlandsnus: This is good stuff. It takes awhile to juice up but the flavor is fairly tasty with, as advertised, notes of cinnamon and wine. On the negative side, I found it to have a bitter taste running underneath that detracts from the whole experience. If there was nothing else like it, I would buy this again next Christmas.

Nordstrommen: As it was cheaper and from V2 I had lower expectations, so I only bought one can. The flavor is similar to the Gotlandsnus but sweeter. It has a much fuller flavor that fills my mouth and I find very enjoyable. I do not find a bitter taste, which surprised me as I found Off Road Wintergreen to be very bitter. Next Christmas this will be a roll order for me.

The bitterness of the Gotlands is sort of their trademark taste; all of their variants have it. It's yet another one of those "you like it or you don't" kind of things. I usually spit it out before it gets too bitter, myself. I like the overall taste better than the Nordstrommen, but the los is a bitch to bake (as with all of Gotlands snus) and it doesn't last long under the lip for me. I do like the portions pretty well.

V2's Julesnus portions have a stronger flavor IMHO, but I don't like it as much as Gotlandssnus' version. Too much of that wine flavor. The los, however, is great.....bakes like a champ and the wine flavor does not come through as much as the portions (for me, anyway).
