for what it's worth I spent some time trying to convert how much snus i was using with my prismaster to my new 3ml icetool. I used N&J to do my conversion. I packed my prismaster full and packed it very well too. Then I pushed the snus out into my hand and packed it into my icetool and checked how much it showed on the icetool. Later I would repeat the test with new snus. I did that about 5-6 times and each time it would roughly go to the third line. I don't use quite that much but seemed better to test with a full prismaster.

While that is not as exact as weighing it is as close as I could get without a scale. I used to have a scale but it busted and I have not replaced it. If I get a new scale I will weigh it and report back.

Anyway, I have to give a plug for icetool. I really like it a lot better than the prismaster. It did cost a lot but this old man don't spend much money on myself and just wanted one ;-) If one has the money to spare they are nice to have.

Hi Carotevi, I hold my pris-master at about half way on the slider, then fill, then compress. Where does that fill the 3mm Ice-tool to. I usually use Probe or General in loose form. Thanks M.

You see what I'm looking at.Sure one could say I use a can whatever(1 to 14)days and figure the 50 grams.It's nice to know if just on a consumption level.Say 1 gram at the second mark if the figures are correct if not we'll just blame zero :lol: .What you said about the prismaster if packed really well,sounds like gram an a half.Which is what I'm looking for.

Ok, I took my prismaster and some general loose snus, i filled the prismaster half full careful not to pack it but just a good solid fill. Then I packed it, then dumped it out in my hand. Then scooped it up into my icetool and packed it good but not like a vise pack. it came almost up to the second line. by "almost" i mean about the thickness of paper away from the second line. so you may as well say it came to the second line.

Tell you another test i did just for the curiosity in me. I have some catch large portions (1 gram each). One has to consider that the snus in portions i think are a finer grind than packaged loose snus. Anyway, i emptied one out and packed it into the icetool. It did not fill the icetool quite as much but almost as much as the loose general did in the prismaster. It came to about the line and a half mark or a little over.

Without a scale I proved to myself anyway that half a prismaster of packed general "loose" comes as close to a gram as this boy can call it. And a half prismaster of packed general "loose" comes within a butt hair of the second line on the icetool. So if that is accurate I guess each line is about a half a gram. Of course different brands of snus have different grinds and would be a little different fills.

Do I pass science class for today? haha Now I really wish that I had a gram scale to see how close to right i am.

Why not buy one then? I regularly see them offered everywhere around here. Digital, accurate to the gram and cheap (about €10).
I use mine every day in the kitchen and to see how many stamps I gotta put on a letter.
For snus though, maybe one accurate to .1 gram would be better but I think that'll be a lot pricier. :wink:

Like i said earlier in this thread i used to have one but it broke, have not replaced it yet. but yea it was accurate to .1 grams. Take my word though any gram scale that cost less than $50 wont last long. Those cheapos brake the first time you bump them or at least mine always have.

Yes,you pass the science class and as you can see zero is way up there pass the calculus playing somewhere in the math field.As for me it was looking like I was going to fail patience class which would have had an out reaching effect on my comprehension studies.After asking a third question a few days ago they told me my snusbox was shipped to me and that they were still waiting for their shipment of icetools 3ml to arrive.So I'm still standing fast and sitting here with a nice prilla of skruf stark placed on the right and a nice pouch of goteborgs rape #2 on the left so all is well
mmmm...I wonder if that pouch you used for the icetool is 1 gram of snus without the pouch.If it isn't then we should tell them to make it so and to be on the safe side add 0.0001 with it. :wink:

Actually back when my gram scale worked I dumped some portions and weighed them. Almost all weighed up at .8 - .9 grams but of course i was not able to get every crumb out of the portion bags haha. Yea I got too much time on my hands ;-)
