General los and Grov los... can you tell the difference?

Still working my way through some new snuses, but I was wondering if someone more experienced could describe the difference they taste between general and grov los? Having tried them both side by side, I'm not sure I find any diffrence. I think maybe Grov is a little less flavored (like if you mixed in some Ettan with General) but even that difference is slight.

So I was wondering if there is maybe some subtle flavor difference this inexperienced snuser is missing? :?

    I taste the difference.

Grov is tobacco and salt period.

    General is peppery and citrus.

Also Grov is coarser. I feel the difference.

Did you recently quit smoking? Keep at it your taste buds and smell will improve.

Hey, thanks bakerbarber... now that you mention it, I do notice a difference in the texture. Grov is coarser and maybe a little more moist as well. I still get a hint of citrus from the grov though, like I slipped in some general with ettan or something?

I did quit smoking, but that was four years ago now, so hopefully my taste buds aren't still duds! I probably just need to work on my snusing palate.

Don't get me wrong dude, the difference isn't much.

I think the difference you see as far as moist or not could go either way. I've had cans of both that were dry.

I like Grov for the fact that I can hillbilly it really easy and for me the coarser snus stays together better.

General always satisfies though. I'm anxious to try Extra Sterk loose.

Give Probe loose a try. I personally think it tastes like chocolate.

As an avid General fan, I could tell the difference between Grov and General from about 50 miles away. General is citrusy and peppery whereas Grov is very mellow, tobacco dominant, and slightly chocolatey. I think the similarity you taste is the Swedish Match base tobacco. SM seems to use the same base for all its snus which makes them all have a common undertone. The overall flavor profiles are quite different, though.

I don't know about los, I hear it's much different from the portions I use, but I do notice similarities. When I first tried it out Grov tasted very similar to General. I picked up some citrus to it, but also got a very dominant mellow tobacco flavor. I haven't picked up much chocolate flavor unless I drink some mild coffee though, but I'm still getting my palate adjusted to snus.

In short, though, General is strongly citrus and pepper. Grov is mellow tobacco, a hint of citrus, and slightly sweeter.

General is a little more mellow with the citrus taste, Grov is all tobacco to me.

I can definitely tell the difference, but I can also tell an SM product from one that isn't, because I can identify their base tobacco.
