So I realized that I'd be running low soon enough and I ordered more from buysnus. And I took some of sagedil's advice and ordered a few he mentioned. It's not too big an order, but should easily last me three, maybe four weeks. One portion tin of each:

Ettan Original
Lucky Strike White
Retro White
Knox

I'll roll a d6 for each to see the turn order. And if you got that joke you need to pull yourself away from your computer and get out more. XP

Nice order. I love Lucky Strike whites. The Lucky Strike regular portions are pretty damn good too.

For Ettan, I prefer the whites to the originals, but they both are very good.

Along the same vein of those flavors, I recommend Pall Mall Whites. They are simply amazing! Nice tobacco flavor but it is very smooth and mellow.

Don't forget about some of the other more plain flavors (not in a bad way at all though) like Tre Ankare and Roda Lacket.

Recently I find that I have my staple of Goteborgs Rape #2 and a plain flavor with me daily. I typically alternate or pick based on what I am doing.

If I am teaching a class, I prefer the longer lasting plain flavors. I have had one in for 2+ hours and it still throws off some nice flavors.

If I am just doing basic work stuff and I am not mentally distracted I like the Goteborgs so I can enjoy the flavor a bit more.

Today was near nerve racking waiting for the package. I kept going to my mail box this morning and I kept seeing NOTHING. I actually hung my head in disappointment a couple times. So I hit the gym for an hour or so then checked again around 11:00. Oh man, one of the best moments of the week. That and getting a big test out of the way (on International Peacekeeping, bleh).

And no, it's a d6. Roll for each and go in order of highest to lowest. I know this because Tyler knows this.

Retro won out first, followed by Knox, and then Lucky Strike. I love the metal tin, and I'm glad I saved that for last of the new ones to try. I still have some Ettan left from my last order, and it's become my go to snus. We'll see how things pan out though. The Retro was a big kick as far as salt content goes, more so than Ettan. But after I got used to it I noticed a nice mellow tobacco flavor. No hints of leather or smoke or what have you. Just tobacco. Salted tobacco. I quite like it. Going to finish the second half of my lunch, rinse my mouth out, and try out the Knox next.

So I'm 75 min in with the Knox portion. Thoughts so far.

It smelled flowery, reminding me of Skruf. The taste has lemons and oranges in it, reminding me of General without the peppery kick. It isn't an overpowering flavor, and goes well with the Sprite I'm drinking. I'd imagine it'd do well with tea as well, and I'll find out later. When I did a little research (swedsnus.com) I found that Knox is made by Skruf, but meant to be lower priced. So far it's pretty good, and while it isn't the pure tobacco taste I was looking for it's enjoyable. I won't really have a definite solid answer until I try a few more, but I'll probably have this to change things up so I don't burn out on the plain tobacco taste I like in Ettan and Retro.

I'll keep this in for another 30 min then break for dinner, some more studying, and possibly try Lucky Strike if I'm not too tired.

I popped in a Lucky Strike earlier and had it in about an hour. It's spicy. Reminds me of General without the citrus almost. Definitely a robust blend of tobacco. I don't think I could have it as a go to snus, but definitely something I'd have to get a kick. I'd have it with strong coffee, as it overpowers this lighter brew I was drinking with it.

I think my go to snuses are going to be Ettan and Retro. I've also found I'm taking a liking to Grov just as much, and that I should've included it in my latest order. C'est la vie. Next time, along with Pall Mall. Meanwhile I'm going to enjoy having these new ones and seeing how they play out. You never really know until you finish the tin. I started liking Ettan far more than Grov, but Grov's come to grow on my just as much.

So final thoughts so far...
*Ettan Original Portion - Mellow, strait tobacco, good to relax with, easy on the palate when just waking up or when you want to zone, goes well with light coffee

*Grov Original Portion - Slightly stronger than Ettan, still mellow, strait tobacco, hint of leather, touch of sweetness, easy on the palate in the mornings or when you want to zone, goes well with light coffee

*Retro White Portion - Saltier than Ettan or Grov, mellow strait tobacco, something I'd have late morning and into the afternoon, goes well with coffee or your choice of soda

*Knox Original Portion - Slightly salty start, moderate-strong lemon and orange flavor, goes well with Sprite and black tea

*Lucky Strike White Portion - Salty, robust, spicy, flavorful kick, goes well with spirits or strong coffee

Sagedil, if you know of anything else mellow and strait tobacco let me know.

You're on the same quest I am re tobacco flavor. Somebody mentioned in my "Lucky Stripe" thread (note to self-post before taking Ambien,not after ops: ) about Mocca's Pure Tobacco minis. I see they've got a large WP too. My next order will be Luckie Strike,Pall Mall,Retro and more Ettan plus I'll try the Mocca WPs.

Interesting you felt Knox lacked the pepper in General, my take was General with extra pepper :lol:.

And while the joke has probably run its course, a four can order would require me to roll a d20 to save against nicotine withdrawal.

Knox is Skruf Original for the most part. It goes well with tea, for sure, because of the delightful taste of bergamot and rose oil. I no longer order Skruf Original when I can get the same thing for much less money. A very good snus overall.
