Not legally. It is made with Cuban tobacco. Although just like with Cuban cigars, people will find a way.

Again like Cuban cigars, I have tried it and don't see it as good enough to be worth the hassle.

The flavour profile is similar to Gotlands Gul (Yellow) in lös and portion form. I prefer the Gotlands and would suggest ordering that instead. Oh and the size of the lös tin is a joke.

The portions are ordinary, good, but as was said above, Gotland Gul is better. The lös is special imo. There's nothing else quite like it, and it's well worth the price, even if it's just an occasional treat.

IMO it tastes just like Gotlands/Taboca's base-tobacco with lots and lots of bergamot. Good, but if the Cuban tobacco was so good in snus you think they'd showcase it, not cover it up.

I personally enjoyed the Montecristo portions quite a bit. The quality of everything, from the pouch material to the tobacco to the tin, is excellent IMO. Haven't had them in a while, and still need to try the los. I got mine shipped to Seattle from this website: www.snuskaufenonline.de

So, if I ordered this from Northerner it wouldn't make it through customs? I'm assuming this goes for the cuban cigars from northerner as well.

                  Montecristo

The excise tax on loose in Sweden is substantially higher than on portion, as it is weight-based. From what I know, Taboca AS didn't want to price MC loose out of the market, sp they reduced the gram-weight.

Most other manufacturers reduced from 50g to 45g last year.

Yes, from my experience if you place an order with Northerner or Buysnus at the end of the transaction they remove it from your basket and say US Customs will not allow it. Which is really stupid considering it's manufactured by a Swedish company licensing the Montecristo name...

The best thing about Montecristo is that it's a very finely ground snus - and doesn't irritate the gums.

Sorry, but I don't follow the reasoning behind this. Even with the reduced weight it is still priced at the same level as General and Göteborgs Rapé lös - the two most expensive lös options out there - so with no comparable in weight it is priced out of the market IMO.

Does Taboca AS pay more tax because it uses Cuban tobacco?

I personally don't think it is special enough to warrant the price difference and will be sticking with Gotlands Gul which I maintain is a superior execution of the flavour profile.

I live pretty close to Sault Ste Marie which is just over the border in canada. A good friend travels to SSM twice a year and brings one or two boxes of cubans and sells some of the cigars to a few friends. Last time he brought a box of 25 Cohiba siglos I which he had paid $199 in Canada. I bought two from him for $30.

The Siglos were excellent but a little milder than the rest of Cuban cigars I had smoked. Its kind of sweet and mild, creamy with a hint of pepper, chocolate, espresso favors and vanilla, and a sweet aftertaste that stays for 2-3 hours. A very nice 30 - 40 minutes lunch or dinner time smoke. You won't regret it if you like small format cigars and are able to find it for a good price. Please let me know if you find them but make sure they are not fakes. I kept the original labels and can scan and post it if you want.
