    nicotine tolerant

I have been snussing for about 2 weeks.

In my first 5 days I felt a real kick from 8mg portions of snus and a buzz. On day 6 I felt nothing. Then on day 7.8.9.10 a real buz.

I would feel it within a few seconds if I pinch it in a hillbilly style or about 1 min if in I baked a pris.

Then on day 11 felt a very delayed reaction to any snus I did no matter how much I did.

Then on day 12 my thunder snus arrived. I did a normal sized pris. Took 10 mins before felt something. All day I had a not enough feeling. then did a huge pinch then felt sick and puked in the toilet.

During all this time I must note the flavour of any snus I took got less and less.

I have been using loose 99% of the time.

So all my stock has run out except for 8 cans of Thunder. I am finding I need 2 pris one on each side and a wait of 30 mins before i feel a noticeable hit. I have noticed that the hit only is felt when the flavour starts to fall onto my tongue. I keep the pris in for about 1hr 30 mins.

Then I dont feel a craving for about 3 or 4 hours. I take another double dose.

Then in the evening I fancy a change so use montiecristo loose which is 11mg per portion, I double dose. Now this snus is normally very flavoursome and it take about 10 mins before I taste it. But dont really get a hit/buzz. So I make really long pris with an icetool and double does. Then 30 mins I am there.

I have come from chain smoking cigs all day to snus.

Sorry for the long post hope you dont get bored reading but I wanted to fully document my experience.

    My questions

    1. Is my tolerance building up very quickly hence the double doseing and longer waiting for an effect?

    2. Can snus damage your mucous receptors and make them less effective for nicotine transport (hence the fact the buzz comes on when I ingest juice from my tongue.

    3. Could the taste issue be that I am more effective at baking a pris so that no longer does it hang down to my teeth.

    4. refer to 1. If it tolerance that is my problem is it worth cold turkeying for a day or to?

I hope some of you experienced users can offer some help.

    Thanks in advance.

    You def have a tolerance.

What i recommend is waiting long periods of time between snus. Like until your body is freaking out for one, then you will feel it.

If you have one when you "want" a buzz it won't happen. If you have one when you feel like you are getting the shakes unless you have the snus, you might get one.

    Just my two cents.

      Plateau I'd say.

Try using regular snus more often AFTER getting your level up where you want it.

The goal being to maintain a base level that you can ramp up.

      Or use snus less often.

Yeah there's a tolerance with usage.

yeah but i am waiting 3 or 4 hours during the day, in evening I go mad.

My experience of withdrawal of nicotine is not the shakes but I get spaced out. Maybe I am weird.

From personal experience, I will get a slight buzz in the morning. This occurs because the body rids itself from most nicotine during a night's worth of sleep. During the day, I never get a buzz from snus. When you smoked, did you smoke cigarettes to get a buzz? Of course not! You smoked to prevent and relieve nicotine withdrawal. The same goes for snus. I would advise against purposely using snus to get buzzed. This will only increase your tolerance and make you require more per day in order to maintain your nicotine addiction.

If you are chasing a nicotine buzz, you might as well give up. Whether it be smoking, snus, whatever, that buzz goes away rather quickly. Then it simply becomes maintaining whatever nicotine levels in your bloodstream that allow you to feel good.

Even with snuff, I don't get a buzz. I just get what I call a rush of feel goodum.

I think Nicotine is much like heroin like that. Any user that has been using for any significant time doesn't get high from the heroin anymore, he just feel horrific if he DOESN'T get it

I was never chasing a buzz I never knew it was there until I used snus therefore figured that is what snus also does for you.

The guy in one of northerners youtube videos also describes it as a nicotine buzz but also states he has been snussing for over 10 yrs. Which implies that is what to expect. What is one supposed to think?

I smoked weed for 11 yrs and never found I failed to get high even on small amounts of hashish. It was never a case of having to maintain straightness. Same with speed. Never got into the horse too gouchy and itchy for my liking. E's yes taking pills during the week meant more were needed at the weekend to get to the same place.

The only comparable thing was booze. Yes that did require more an more and a few in the day to keep straight but that was over a period of 15 yrs not 2 weeks.

perhaps my rock n roll life has altered my brain somewhat but 11 yrs clean should have settled the chemicals in my system.

Mind you they say acid stays in your system for 20 yrs. I knew I should have stuck with mushrooms.

LOL, we are most definitely birds of a feather. My heavy druggie days are long past, still smoke dope every day, do shrooms every few years, haven't been able to find acid in about 5 years, do E every few years. Since I have done Acid at least 50 times, and well into adulthood, guess I must still be tripping. That does explain a few things.

Seems like you are trying to replace the quick spikes of high you get from ciggs. A snus trip takes 30mins to really get into and starts going away after that. Totally different kind of high. Use snus to keep a proper floor level and snuff to get the spikes. Personally, I just use snus to keep me off ciggs, and use other things if I need to get a buzz.

You must be head strong. My last trip never really wore off that was 20 yrs ago.

one time I dropped 4 window pane trips you know the acid that came in little red gelatine blips that night I was God. I mean angels visited me and said for 1 night only I was God. Apparently every human on earth gets this 1 night to be God sometime at least this is what the angels told me. but instead of rejoicing in my power and dominion I got depressed and started crying. I just did not want the responsibility. I said I did not want the job give it to somone else, but they insisted. At this point I took all my clothes off and ran down the street shouting 'you are neither dead or alive you just are" and more wacky things like that. I then was convinced that all my friends were undercover cops I tried to rip their clothes off in order to reveal their uniforms. Then I dont have any memory of the next 10 hours.

woke up the next day feeling totally liberated and free from the bondage of self.

sorry for being so off topic but i have not told anyone that story before it just came out.

LSD actually leaves the body relatively quickly. In about 48 hours, LSD is excreted completely from the body through urination. These so-called "flashback trips" have no evidence or scientific research behind them. Any claims that LSD stays in the body for life or several years afterward is a complete myth. Several studies have shown that LSD is a relatively safe drug, since it does not cause dependence or contain any carcinogens. If you have a family history of schizophrenia, I would recommend staying away from it, since it may trigger or accelerate the symptoms of the disorder (especially if you are in your teens or twenties; the symptoms of schizophrenia occur during these years). I will never use LSD because I have a family history of schizophrenia and mental illness. However, if you are exempt from those restraints, than have at it!

WAY OFF THE TOPIC OF SNUS, BUT RELEVANT TO THE DISCUSSION. SORRY.

I have done two 7 hit trips, and one 13 hit trip. That as interesting, lasted over 24 hours.  In my day, I was a hard core explorer. I truly love LSD, and it played a HUGE role in so many ways about who I am today. My all time favorite trip was at a Nude Beach in santa Cruz. Very few people during the week, and totally non social so few people I did see stayed far away. A picture perfect California day too. To trip naked at the beach, all to myself was beyond words, but a treasure I will hold close until the day I die.

It is a wondrous drug. But over the years, I have discovered one critical factor. Everyone I have met who tried it, liked kit, and would do it again was 22 or older when they first did it. Every single person whi has said they had a bad experience, or who wouldn't do it again, was younger when they first did it. I think it very much has to do with the fact our brain is not done growing until we are 21/22. Do LSD when it is still in process, and things don't work right.

And snusjus, I know everything you said. I studied LSD extensively when I was younger, read every single book ever written that covered it, read all the work that was done with it in the 50's and 60's.

A little LSD trivia. Ken Kesey was a subject in LSD tests being conducted at Stanford in the late 50's. He would then go to his job at a mental institution while still tripping. How he came to write One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest which was published in 1962.
