What continues to amaze me about hardcore loose users, is the way that their fingers and palms just stays almost completely clean. I mean, sure I bake a decent freehand ... but every time I do it, I seriously need at least a tissue or two to wipe my hands with.

Well, as stated above it all comes down to practice. No doubt about that. And of course ... since I got my flashy Icetool five months ago I rarely miss a chance to use it.

Why not lick your fingers clean?

I've noticed with loose, it tends to make my mouth reach the 'rot' feeling/taste quicker. My mouth just tastes and feels nasty and spent after having loose in for a while. Not unlike american dip. The residue sort of embeds itself into the pores of the tongue and surface of the rest of the mouth. Also my throat gets rather dry from not swallowing.
I dunno if this is just me or what.

If you are new to loose you will get used to this sort of thing. I'm sure when people start smoking their mouths/throat get dry but after a while the body adapts.

Oh and you can swallow if you want, it is not like dip. I normally have a drink handy whilst snusing loose to help the dry mouth.

I know it's not like dip, at least not as sickening when swallowed, but it's still tobacco and has that irritating feeling when swallowed. My throat gets a little sore and a thick mucus builds up. It also makes me have headaches and feel slightly sickly overall. That's with loose or portion if I swallow any of it's residue. I'm glad it doesn't illicit as much as regular dip but I still have to spit. I have no idea how I'm going to get over that. Obviously I could continue to swallow or just quit altogether but neither of which I'm interested in doing. I guess I just have to put up with spitting unless there's another trick or method.

Ah right, that is a problem. Maybe it will go away after a while.

I also think you'll get accustomed to it in time. As for me, I haven't had to spit once like dip. Also swallowing a little bit doesn't do me anything either.

ive always swallowed the residue and ive never felt any different from before.
i think it might have something to do with how your body reacts to it.
i know a few guys that cant stand swallowing it, cuz they end up puking if they do.

Like phish already mentioned, the best trick IMHO is to get yourself something to drink, while snusing. I never had the slightest problems, swallowing the snus-juice, but sometimes, I just have to drink something, exspecially with some of the stronger or saltier brands.

                    Cheers!

I found that placement is very important. I think I have read this in another post. Put the snus forward in your mouth, nearer the front. Less drip, I find.

When one considers the price of the icetool vs. the price of the snus and then divides by the amount of enjoyment.. the tool isn't much money, in the end.

I've ordered General loose (1 roll) and an Icetool as my starter kit. Being that I can't run down to the local shop and grab a can of snus, I had no choice but to order. Thus, I ordered enough to justify the postage.

Were I able to grab snus at the local shop, I'd have seriously sticky fingers at this point from excessive baking while waiting for the icetool to arrive .

... and what a way to begin a snus journey! As many has stated before me; the General is a very, very good everyday-snus. I sometime seem to forget this, but lately I've been diggin' it a lot - last week I bought 5 General and 5 Nick & Johnny + a couple of Göteborgs Rapé on a little supply run to Sweden.

Nice that you added an Icetool to your first order. Many would probably have started out with the much cheaper Prismaster, but hey ... you can't beat the coolness of this nifty little helper. Which one did you order?

I haven't bought any general in a long time... I really should get some in my next order, I think. I do remember quite enjoying it. I mean, it must be their best seller for a reason, eh? 8)
