Brand: Offroad American Wintergreen
Variety: Lös
Manufacturer: V2
Date On Can: None
Cans Used: 1
Comments: This was sort of a 'second chance' kind of thing. I'd been really put off by Offroad portions as a young snuser, but had heard much better things about Offroad lös. I'd tried nearly all of the 'premium' brands at this point, and was a little bored.
The snus itself is VERY finely ground. It's pretty moist--seemed about the consitency of mud--but without excess moisture after packing it into the Prismaster. I'm not a hand-baker, but it seems that this would lend itself to hand-baking pretty well, and stayed together nicely under the lip, although it seemed a bit rough on the gums over the course of the can.
The flavor was decent--your typical Wintergreen taste--although I find increasingly that I'm not a big fan of mint flavored tobacco. There was quite a bit of 'burn' initially. I'm not sure if that had more to do with the wintergreen flavor or a larger amount of baking soda.
Unfortunately, the flavor wore out rather quickly, and there was not much of a tobacco taste underneath. It also seemed a bit weak in the nicotine department---but then again, I've been doing a lot of stark portions lately. I averaged about 45 minutes a prilla with this, before I was ready for something else.
I approached Offroad again with some apprehension, but this was a fairly pleasant surprise. This particular flavor is perhaps not one that I'd revisit, but I am definitely open now to trying the other Offroad brands
The Verdict: A bit of vindication for V2. 4 out of 10.
